I worked with a guy whose family emigrated here from Ukraine when the Bolsheviks took over in Russia. He told me his Grandma told him they even raked out their root cellar.
And the Bolshevik economic model of the farmer only being allowed to keep 10% of their profits from the crops raised (collectivism) killed the profit motive.
Now we know why the Communist system failed so miserably.
But the failed Soviet occupation of Afghanistan is what led to the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Of course, we helped the Mujahideen by sending them Stinger missiles.
Not to mention that Russia has 10 million illegal Chinese in Eastern Russia, and Russia can't do a thing about it. ;)
