Angry owner blows up his Tesla (VIDEO)

A Finnish man who was shocked by the cost of a battery replacement for his Tesla Model S decided that blowing up his electric car with an Elon Musk dummy inside would be a more suitable solution.

The owner said that he lost his faith in Musk’s company after he was told to pay 20,000 euros (around $22,500) for a new battery for his car. He was apparently among the early buyers of the Tesla Model S, which had been around since 2012, so his warranty had already expired.

Battery tech is just not advanced enough to economically support electric cars.

Even if batteries were ideal -- zero mass, zero volume, infinite life, 100% efficient, unlimited charge rate, unlimited output current, safe, cheap or even free, etc. -- electric cars would still be infeasible for the masses. This country's electrical generation and distribution infrastructure is woefully inadequate to supply the amount of energy required to replace that of the hydrocarbon fuels that power most automobiles today.

The push to eliminate internal combustion engines for most people's automobiles is, very simply, intended to limit the mobility -- and thus the freedom and political power -- of us mundanes. To keep us on the reservation where we can be controlled more easily.

It's barely adequate to run a leaf blower.

It will if you rig it up to 3 or 4 car batteries in a backpack with an appropriate transformer.

Maybe just get some really long jumper cables and keep the car running while I'm doing yardwork.

Don't need long jumper cables. Just have someone drive the car around the yard behind you. Of course the hood will need to be raised but you can just shout directions to them.
