Israel is now Chinas second-largest foreign supplier of arms after Russia with China having purchased a wide array of military equipment and technology, including communications satellites. China is a vital market for Israels aerospace and defense industry.
In June 2019, the Israeli city of Haifa signed a 25-year contract with Chinese company Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), defying US pressure. The contract entails the building and operating of a large and key shipping seaport on the Mediterranean.
China will take the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Israel next year as an opportunity to promote the sustained, healthy and stable development of their innovative comprehensive partnership, Chinese President Xi Jinping said Wednesday.
