NASCAR really started blowing it with the Bubba Wallace noose hoax a couple years ago, banning Confederate flags at tracks, etc. My buddies and I used to get together at one of their shops on the weekends when the races were on network TeeVee, have some beers and be guys. They're driving away the most dedicated fans with their woke delusions.
The season starts in mid February with Daytona and it's not looking too promising. Rednecks don't take too well to this high falutin' bullshit.
You sure about that? They took just fine to the africanization of every other major sport.
I'm not sure about anything anymore. All I know is that ALL the NASCAR fans that I know are sick of this "woke" nonsense. Personally, I can take or leave it. I just like drinkin' with my buddies. I don't like "ball" sports at all. Only a couple of the guys and gals like football, Colts fans.
I think we only got together for one or two TV races last season. They used to be pretty big affairs a couple years ago. None of us went to any races last season. We'd usually make a weekend or two at Michigan. Sometimes we'd make a day of it for the Brickyard 400 in Indy, but it's always so stinkin' hot there when they run that. The ambulance carts were hauling folks off before the race even started last time we were there. I thought the old gal I was with was going to die it was so hot. The only thing I hauled in the cooler was frozen water bottles.
In my senior year of high school, the school newspaper asked the seniors what they were planning to do after graduation, what were their career plans? I made up something I thought was funny, and they took it for real and printed it in the final edition:
"StraitGate plans to build and test race cars at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway."
