Prices on hot dogs and cold cuts are going even higher...
Poster Comment:
Turkey used as a substitute for other cuts of meat will go up 30%. Some prices only going up 10 to 20%.
(Edit) Watching Rand Paul belt out 'Love Shack' always makes me feel better.
(Edit2) McMurphy's here. There's a trail of scrubs leading upstairs. When my hot water runs out, I'll be needed elsewhere. I wish I hadn't given my rain gear to Sparky a couple years ago.
I hate to think what happened today.
Cap'n Brandon, out.

You know, I have to think this is pure greed. These mega-corps have endless billions to donate to evil causes, hire "diversity and tolerance" enforcers (and tokens), and give their top people obscene salaries. Golden parachutes rival normal compensation!
Local restaurants I know and love are carrying on valiantly -- those that this and previous waves of govt terror haven't already killed. The surviving ones barely raise menu prices or don't at all. This has to mean they were smart in more flush times and started saving up long ago to cover bad ones.
The bigger a national or global corporation, the more evil -- that's how it's looking.... I just realized some chain restaurants are have become unkempt and unappealing while the independents haven't -- at least in my towns!
USA! USA! USA! Bringing you democracy, or else! there were strains of VD that were incurable, and they were first found in the Philippines and then transmitted to the Korean working girls via US military. The 'incurables' we were told were first taken back to a military hospital in the Philippines to quietly die. 4um
My frugality is legendary, but I don't scrimp on food -- not since I went nine days without eating once. I'll drive a 27 year old truck, a 48 year old lawn tractor, and a 59 year old lady crazy. But I won't drive by a grocery store or a farmers' market without stopping to re-supply.
Haven't had a paid-for haircut in 35 years. Why waste food money on non- essentials?

Restaurants are so consistently bad that I seldom eat out. I despise chain restaurants, and eat at one only rarely as a last resort or when required for work.
And it's not just the food that's bad -- it's the cursed noise. Like a Grateful Dead concert. Life's too short. Last time I ate at a chain restaurant I gave the waitress $10 to turn the noise off. I usually get it done for $5.
Interestingly, I found the food better in Spain 20 years ago than it was and is here.
The nearby Chinese buffet is pretty good. But $10.40 for lunch plus a nice tip for Ling Ling is a little steep.
