Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family were moved to a secret location on Saturday due to security reasons amid anti-vax protests. Anti-vax protesters and truckers late Friday night descended on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The protests continued into Saturday. According to Canadian media, Trudeau and his family were rushed out of their residence and into a secret location. CBC reported: A convoy of thousands of truckers and other protesters have descended on Parliament Hill to call for an end to COVID-19 vaccine mandates and other public health restrictions — a raucous demonstration that has police on high alert for possible violence even as organizers urge the growing crowd to be peaceful. Hundreds of protesters on foot flooded into the parliamentary precinct on Saturday in the midst of an extreme cold warning, joining a lineup of truckers that started to arrive on the scene late Friday night. Many more are expected to descend on the downtown core in the hours ahead, as truckers and their supporters leave muster points in the east and west ends of Ottawa destined for Parliament Hill. The so-called "Freedom Convoy" - coming from all corners of Canada and even the US, has been traveling all week and is leading the charge in a massive demonstration against government overreach. Truckers from around the world are uniting and staging protests of their own. As Enrico Trigoso reports at The Epoch Times, Brian Von D, the administrator at “Convoy to DC 2022” announced that they will “join forces” to ride from California to Washington, adding that “America is next.” “As [the Canadian convoy] moved from the west to the east, [the American truckers] have been filtering into this convoy, and it is absolutely massive. It is known worldwide, it is the largest thus far,” he said in a live video on Facebook. He added that dates and planned routes would be released soon on a website and various social media platforms, and a GoFundMe page would only be released on their CONVOY TO DC 2022 Facebook page. “We’re done with the mandates, were done with the government telling us what to do, we will continue and we will follow just like the rest of the world on these trucker protests, and they will be 100 percent legal, they will abide by the law.” The Parliamentary Protective Service expects as many as 10,000 protesters this weekend in Ottawa, but that figure could be significantly higher. A day ago, we noted 50,000 trucks in a 70km (43.5 miles) long convoy are headed to the capital. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Freedom Convoy is "the largest parade of trucks" ever in the world. "It’s 70 km (43.5 miles) long,” says Freedom Convoy 2022 spokesperson Benjamin Dichter to the Toronto Sun. “I have seen footage from an airplane. It’s impressive." The trucker convoy has been arriving in the capital for the past 12 hours. Additional waves of the convoy will arrive later this afternoon. Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau called the convoy a "small fringe minority" of those who "do not represent the views of Canadians." Judging by the pictures and videos so far, Trudeau is a liar, and a revolt is underway in the country. Corporate media and government have spent the better part of the week downplaying the convoy ( because they are scared). On Friday, Trudeau told the Canadian Press that he was worried about the protest turning violent. Organizers of the event have told truckers and anyone else participating in the demonstration to remain peaceful. CBC said Trudeau and his family left downtown Ottawa on Saturday morning (due to close contact with someone infected with COVID - although he tested negative and triple-jabbed) as the trucker convoy descended on the area. The local news said he left town due to security concerns. The convoy is expected to bring parts of the metro area to a standstill and block roads in front of parliament until lawmakers repeal a vaccine mandate for truckers hauling freight across the border. Despite Trudeau calling the protest "small," Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly said they planned a "massive" demonstration on Friday.

Not by Canada, we're not. I'd probably be up in Kanuckistan partying with my trucker buddies, except not one of us is allowed in Canada due to various DWIs and sundry felonies. I'm not sure if the Kryderman is even out of the U.P. gulag yet.
Last time I took my 2001 V6 Mustang to Ford dealer the fucks did a tune up, replaced passenger side window regulator, did a tune up, put in a new heater blower motor, steering bushings, brake line, front brake caliper, changed the anti-freeze, oil, and transmission fluid, but didn't say shit about the fact that the frame was rotted out.

My next car probably would have been a Focus hatchback. Fuck Ford. I kinda liked the Hyundai Veloster, but they stopped selling those too. Toyo Corrolla hatchback, no turbo, no AWD, no tricky valve bullshit. If I soak myself in the driveway and spray the salt off the undercarriage every March, you think it will last 10 years?
I saw one of those not too long ago, they reminded me of my Geo Storm wagon or hatchback, whatever they called 'em. I saw a Mini Club Wagon (whoever makes those) when I was foraging for food & booze last Wednesday or Thursday, but I've read those are shit. I really like the Suzuki Jimny, but they're sold everywhere but the US. I'm still pissed about that Scion IQ deal in Denver that fell through a couple years ago. I'm down to one car, the '13 Tacoma, now that Sling Blade's AWD Astro blew up last fall. I gave him the '93 Sonoma.
If it was built right, Pinto Cruiser would be my ideal car. Sleep in the back, sell a little weed...:)
My buddy Kip bought one of those when they came out. It was silver with the yellow, orange and (I think) red stripes. It was a good looking car. The wagons weren't susceptible to rear end collision fires because the filler neck wasn't behind the license plate. I SO'd a '79 Pontiac Sunbird Kammback wagon with a 3.8l V6, 5 speed. Some bastard rear ended me during the Three Rivers Festival and bent that bitch bad, before I even had a chance to desmog it and tune it up. I got some SX-70 pics here in the office. That was a damned good looking car. It would've awesome with a GNX motor in it. Stock, that sumbitch couldn't breathe. Late 70s & early 80s cars sucked before FI got mainstream.

That's the color of the '80 Z28 that replaced my Sunbird wagon. Somewhere in there, I had a '79 Mustang 5.0. I think it was a dark rust color. I found a pic, it was dark grey below the beltline. They didn't have GTs yet that might've been '82?
The '79 Mustangs could have a 302 (5.0) but Ford scaled back to the 255ci for 80 and 81, with a whopping 119 horsepower (thanks Jimmy). The 302 returned in '82, with like 139hp. Not good years for performance. Even a big block like the 1977 Pontiac 455 maxed out at 220hp.
I think the Z28 was only 180 or 190 stock. I worked that up a bit from there after taking a couple hundred pounds of smog bullshit off it. You should've seen that air pump deal, Jesus. I became really good at jerking over Rochester Quadra-Jet carbs.
My first car was a '74 Merc Comet with the 250ci straight six. The plumbing on that thing looked like the intro to Monty Python. I pulled half of it and capped off the open holes, it ran much better after that.
Yeah, I've got a Polaroid of the vacuum hose routing sticker that looks like that from the Z28. When I took the giant pancake cat out of the exhaust, it didn't give me a commensurate increase in breathing so I pulled one of the pipe plugs out of the exhaust manifolds where the air pump hooked in. There was flared pipes down in the holes, about 1/4" OD, 2.5" long to inject the air deep into the exhaust ports of the heads. I fished a thin mechanic's wire with a little hook on the end to pull those out. That made things much less bad. I hate to think what that pellet type cat would be worth today. I don't remember how I got rid of all that junk. There used to be a service procedure to replace those pellets. I think it involved some kind of vibratory GM tool that you'd hook up after prying out the metal sheet metal plug on the bottom of the cat. I don't remember how you were supposed to get the new pellets in.
The problem was the heads that, at best, were running about 8.3 atmospheres. Shit, even a Ford 460ci was only putting out 202hp by 1977.
Yeah, true, but the induction and exhaust was really restricted back then. I might have squeezed 240-250HP out of that 5.7, I'm not sure except it was a helluva lot better than stock. Sounded awesome too. I got recruited by the company shortly after that and my car tuning days were pretty much over.
Put a pair of Boss 302 heads (and intake manifold) on a two bolt main 302 from a 78 Mustang II and stand back, it will blow up if it doesn't seize up first. And that's not even touching the crazy high lift cam or swapping out the mushy hydraulic lifters for solids.
The GM 302, 4.0" bore, 3.0" stroke was pretty strong back in the day.
The Chevy 302 was specific to the Z/28, best I recall. Homolagation deally for SCCA Trans-Am series.
You might be right, I don't remember. Sounds familiar.
I think Chev came out later with the 307, but that was a destroked 327 in the post OPEC embargo era.
