A fire of the magnitude could increase the cost of fertilizer and cut crop production this year. Some corn farmers saw the price increase (more than double) and switched to soy beans. Problem is that seeds went up in price too.The lesson is to get away from Big Ag. Feed coffee grounds to worms and you will get amino acids with Nitrogen that your plants can absorb directly.
Here is a thought. We can stop all these corn subsidies to make ethanol for cars.
