...they are now reporting 39,997 fatalities...

They're lying, it's probably 100 times that. There's been over 2 million in the US.

Don't tell me they forgot to exempt insurors in that regard? C'mon, they're a huge lobby like Big Pharma!

That shouldn't be an issue. I'm sure the boilerplate excludes 'being involved in medical experiments', suicide, illicit drug use, acts of war, etc.

Unless they're a really stupid insurer.

My buddie's wife has a million dollar accidental death policy on him. Even if he splats his semi, they'll probably dig into his medical history and say he died of the clot shot before driving off the cliff.

Act of War, but isn't that a term of international law?

When we ran the big truck to Florida on dedicated run, I was driving going into Florida.

There was a slow moving truck coming on the get on ramp and there was a car right behind him. I was in the hammer lane. I knew that guy was going to try to pull out in front of me so I had my hand on the air horn lanyard.

As soon as he dipped the nose of the car I pulled the lanyard. I'll tell you what, he stayed put. No way to stop 80,000 pounds on a dime at 70 mph. I would have blasted him into the next county. ;)

My buddy's been running fly ash out of a power plant in Illinois 35 miles to a gravel quarry for disposal with his pneumatic tanker. He called me yesterday on his way back to FTW.

He's running two loads/day at a shade over 90,000 lbs. Apparently there's no weigh stations around. He said he'd haul 100,000, but his tractor springs won't take it. I guess he's picking up a few hundred bux more a day. I can't remember how much he was getting paid/ton, but it was high.

He said it's a good gig. I guess the plant is really laid back about all the safety bullshit.

He's running an old, pre-elog longhorn Pete with a Cat 3406E with a power box pushing 800+ HP.

With that Cat engine I bet he is lucky to squeeze 8 mpg out of it. ;)

He told me five and a half. I was trying to talk him into going to the DC rally before I convinced myself that it's another January 6 type trap like the Canada rally is turning into.

That'd amount to about 200 gallons there and back or $1,000. Screw that. He was also wanting me to pay all the other expenses too. I'll buy a bottle of whiskey for $20 and watch it on the internet.

He told me five and a half.

When we ran that dedicated run to Florida every week back around 2001 and 2003, we stopped in Jackson, Georgia. I was riding with the boss. He told me, "Put on 100 gallons of fuel and take a shower."

I said, "You know we have to run across that scale further south?" He told me again, "Put on the fuel and take a shower."

I did and when we rolled across the scale it was 750 over on the drives. That was $75 cash and he had to pay it. I told them in the scale, "It must have been that fuel we put on in Jackson." They said, "Musta been!" :-/
