I'm beginning to wonder if Putin might have been factoring in the fragile US economy and dollar health into his strategic plans. Might be giving him too much credit, but... who knows?

The US government wants people to be afraid. That is why they close alternate new sources that tell the truth and exposes their lies that the minor police action in Ukraine where there is little property damage and a few people killed. Instead,it is described as a major war with cities demolished, tens of thousands killed, and million attempting to escape.

And, because people believe the USA lying media they are seeking safety by buying precious metals. Inflation will continue because the fed continues to counterfeit money. However, higher prices will be blamed on Russia.

That is what I want to happen. That means inflation so my gold, silver, and platinum futures will make me a lot of money.

Take a look at the chart for XOM. I doubled down on that in late 2020, @ $40 and change. The dividend yield was over 10% at the time. That's probably the best trade I ever made. At $86+ the yield is down to 4%, but that's still a wee bit better than the 0.01% Chase gives me or the 0.8% at the credit union.

(Edit) Looks like gas is running about $3.899 here. Highest ever was 3.689 under O'boingo. I went into Au & Ag hard around 2009/10 @ ~$900 and $9. I don't think I was ever out of the money on that, certainly not more than a few days IIRC.
