I agree. When I worked for the Committeeman in Chicago, they knew who the registered voters were since we had the polling sheets. Sometimes when new people would move in, we would go to the door and see if they had registered to vote.
Since I was working for the Republicans in Chicago, chances were the new people would be Democrats.
My sister in Chicago told me the one neighbor's home had been bought by Mexicans. Considering the usury charged by the banks, plus the price of gasoline with City and County excise plus the state, it is likely gas is over $5/gal now, if not more in Chicago proper.
