Title: Visualizing The Link Between Soaring Food Prices And Political Instability

The Russian war in Ukraine has had immediate repercussions for global food markets given the countries’ role as major exporters of essential agricultural products, such as wheat, sunflower oil, barley and corn, while also affecting perishable foods like fruits and vegetables.

As shown in FAO data, the price of basic food products has surged since the invasion of Ukraine after already having followed an upward trend since 2020 over the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As Statista's Katharina Buchholz notes, in the past, similar surges in the price of food have led to unrest, mostly in developing countries, and even coincided with the Arab Spring in 2011, when populations in North Africa and the Middle East cornered by oppressive regimes and feeling the additional squeeze on their livelihoods due to high prices rose up and toppled several regional regimes.

The current level of food prices is even surpassing the peaks observed in 2011 and 2008, when food and other prices rose dramatically, causing unrest in several African countries as well as in Bangladesh, Haiti, Indonesia and Yemen. The onset of the global financial crisis put an end to the price surge that year.

In the current situation, Human Rights Watch has warned that food crisis could hit North Africa and the Middle East again, as several countries in the region are major importers of Russian or Ukrainian food products. According to Cornell University economics professor Chris Barrett, the potential for unrest is again heightened. At the beginning of March, protests over food prices took place in Iraq. (1 image)

Just think about how ugly things are going to get when the food riots here in America start.

Just think how many whites they'll be able to lock up when we start killing the rioting nig-nogs.

Three things will happen almost simultaneously:

1) Boosters and the next bioweapon will kick in with people dying like flies.

2) Hyperinflation and the collapse of the US Dollar.

3) Nationwide Food Shortages and every city gets burned to the ground.

I expect this to happen before the 2024 elections.

the rioting nig-nogs.

When MLK,Jr. was shot and killed in Memphis in 1968, my Mom was driving back home from Montgomery Ward catalog pick up on near north side of Chicago. She was driving thru the black area on Clyburn. She told me, "Those people came running out of those buildings. They put a brick in the windshield and a bottle thru the driver side window." She stopped to talk to a cop, and he said, "Go home and call the station." She got a small cut on her pinkie. :-/

I am concerned considering that I am one of a few of the white faces in a predominantly minority neighborhood.

Most of them know me well enough that I am not their first choice of targets. The others that don’t, I am sure will figure it all out. There are other targets in my neighborhood that they will go after first. Easier, more liberal, and tolerant targets who will blame themselves rather than blame the criminal.

Then there’s me. I have zero interest in going after anyone in my area when things go off the rails. No, my plan is to ensure that the power elite after they have fled to their bunkers, am able to weld their doors shut and make those shelters their tombs. Because that should be the mission of every armed citizen, bring law to the lawless and justice to those who have destroyed our nation.

So what you are saying, is that with less people, the famine will go away, and my shot at some kind of leadership position is all but guaranteed. I’m starting to like the idea of a societal collapse more and more.

When I bought my house in 1996, this neighborhood was about 70% white, 30% black. Many of the whites were older, and had bought here in the late 50s or early 60s. As they started dying out, the houses were bought up as rentals and the neighborhood took a steep nosedive, we were getting people moving in from places like Detroit and Chicago, probably Section 8 after the great public high rise demolition. That was the bad times. I think a lot of the owners were losing their shirts, even with the subsidies.

Then came the Mexicans. Much better than the ghetto crud, but still problematic (mostly noise and litter - not so much shooting, stabbing, car theft, and home invasion). At least they were buying and fixing up the houses, but unfortunately neglecting, if not outright destroying the yards.

This was a nice, quiet neighborhood when I moved here, none of these problems would exist if not for government refusing to allow working class whites a moment of peace. It was always a little bit redneck in the old days, but the people that had "Welcome Indy-500 Fans" banners hung up year round weren't really hurting anything other than property values (edit: to be honest, that was part of the draw for me, I was like "All right, car guys! This is where I belong.) I am far enough away from the track that we only averaged about one per block anyway.
