Glyphosate binds (chelates) vital nutrients such as iron, manganese, zinc, and boron in the soil, preventing plants from taking them up. This could also have implications for humans and animals that eat GM glyphosate-tolerant crops, as it could affect nutrient value. Big Ag wheat in the US is killed by Glyphosate so farmers can reap their harvest with one pass on one day. Manganese is used by plants to separate H20 into H and O2 as a first step in photosynthesis. Reducing photosynthesis is probably why GMO crops never score as high as 6 on Brix refractometers. Brix measures sugar content of crops. 12 is healthy. Crops scoring 12 to 14 are never attacked by plant diseases and pests. Dr Tom Dykstra reported that high Brix scoring crops in Africa were bypassed by locusts. Boron is needed for plant pollination. Boron is also needed to make strong cell walls to protect plants against disease. And Boron is also needed to make strong roots after germination. Boron deficiency is a common deficiency of the micronutrient boron in plants. It is the most widespread micronutrient deficiency around the world and causes large losses in crop production and crop quality. Boron deficiency affects vegetative and reproductive growth of plants, resulting in inhibition of cell expansion, death of meristem, and reduced fertility. What are signs of boron deficiency in humans? acute severe malnutrition persistent vomiting severe diarrhoea disturbed calcium-magnesium balance eating disorders (anorexia nervosa and bulimia) malabsorption disorders and renal disease. US soil is depleted of Manganese and Boron already. Glyphosate is a known carcinogen. Tomatoes with a Brix below 6 have no taste and no smell. If your only mineral inputs are NPK and you take out the Boron and Iron with Glyphosate, then you are just demineralizing your food. Poster Comment: This is a rant from me. No URL. I do have a gardening blog here. https://gsmgardening.wordpress.com/ Boron is one of 5 minerals farmers should soak their seeds in before planting. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
