Health See other Health Articles Title: Glyphosate: Bad For Human And Plant Health The short answer is that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, binds to and removes minerals that make both humans and the plants they eat healthy. This is not good. Glyphosate binds with calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron, molybdenum, cobalt and boron. Boron is needed in the cell wall of plants to protect them from diseases and pests. Boron is crucial just after germination to help the young seedling grow roots into the soil. And later boron is needed for pollination. Graeme Sait once consulted with an Australian farmer who had $7 million in crop losses due to a boron deficiency. The farmer was so desperate that he was renting bee hives from a beekeeper. All the man needed was to do a cheap foliar spray on his corn stalks with boron. Cobalt is needed to make Vitamin B-12. Molybdenum is needed to make the plant enzyme nitrogenase which fixes nitrogen and makes amino acids possible in our crops. 80% of all soil is deficient in molybdenum. Manganese splits water molecules and makes photosynthesis possible. Farmers can use a refractometer to measure Brix which is the amount of sugar in a plant. Dr Tom Dykstra says healthy plants with Brix readings of 12 to 14 are immune to most diseases and pests. He has seen locusts in Africa avoid high Brix reading plants because they cannot digest the complete proteins of healthy crops. GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) crops exposed to glyphosate never score above 5 on a Brix reading which is why they lack the flavor and smell of their organic counterparts. And it is also why they require so many pesticides and fungicides. Magnesium makes chlorophyll. Magnesium is an essential feature of cell metabolism. Calcium deficiency appears first as localized tissue necrosis leading to stunted plant growth, necrotic leaf margins on young leaves or curling of the leaves, and eventual death of terminal buds and root tips. Calcium deficiencies in plants are associated with reduced height, fewer nodes and less leaf area. Reduced leaf area means less photosynthesis. If you feel like doing something about Glyphosate, a known carcinogen, don’t waste your breath talking to Mr Monsanto, Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture in both the Obama and Biden admins. Bonus: John Kempf, the founder of Advancing Eco Ag, told us to give our plants a healthy start by soaking our seeds for 24 hours in clean water with manganese, zinc, copper, cobalt and boron. When people don’t have enough boron, their bone cells can’t lay down new bone tissue properly, which may lead to bone diseases like osteoporosis and rickets. Molybdenum deficiency causes brain dysfunction (encephalopathy) that worsens over time. Babies with this condition appear normal at birth, but within a week they have difficulty feeding and develop seizures that do not improve with treatment. A manganese deficiency can cause epilepsy, osteoporosis, diabetes and an inability to digest food due to a deficiency of digestive enzymes produced by the pancreas. Calcium regulates at least three key Krebs Cycle enzymes that are required for the generation of ATP. It is needed for muscle contractions. And of course is needed for human bones and teeth. Magnesium is a cofactor in more than 300 enzyme systems that regulate protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, and blood pressure regulation. Magnesium is required for energy production, oxidative phosphorylation, and glycolysis. Magnesium makes repeated beating of the human heart possible so it is needed in human nutrition. So glyphosate’s binding with minerals is harmful to humans as well. But research also indicates that glyphosate’s mimicking of glycine might help to cause autism. Glycine mimicking exerts a direct molecular disruption to calcium regulatory factors for neurons. This disruption appears to occur in a time sensitive manner, leading to haphazard disorganizations of the steps of early neuronal migration. In addition to glyphosate’s molecular similarity to glycine, glyphosate is known to bind to manganese and magnesium, which are needed for the normal functioning of several neuronal calcium inflow regulatory factors. Bonus: I am not a doctor but I know someone who amazed his doctors by passing his echocardiogram test by following this German herbal formula daily for 6 months: Hawthorn Berries, Milk Thistle, Ginkgo Biloba, Bilberry extract, cayenne and garlic.
