the epicotyl is directly responsible for growing in order to punch through the surface of the ground. This then allows the epicotyl to grow straight up, elongating the shoot.

Upon germination, the hypocotyl pushes the cotyledons above the ground to develop. It eventually becomes part of the plant stem.

It is well-known that radiation of various wavelengths influences the growth of plants and other organisms in various ways. The earth magnetic field influences the movement and absorption of elements. The effect of magnetic forces on asparagus seed germination and seedling growth was studied. The experiment included four treatments, two concentrations of potassium nitrate (2g/L and 3 g/L) combined with magnetic field and a control. A completely randomized design with 3 replications was used. Results showed that in a magnetic field asparagus seeds imbibed and germinated more rapidly. Seed germination percentage and epicotyl and hypocotyl lengths were also significantly higher than without the influence of a magnetic field. The magnetic field also changed the direction of radicle growth. This behavior confirms the effect of earth magnetic forces on root orientation and root growth. Also lateral root initiation and growth rate were significantly different in a magnetic field. https://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/ista/sst/2006/00000034/00000002/art00010

Seeds were magnetically exposed to one of two magnetic field strengths, 125 or 250 mT for different periods of time. Mean germination time and the time required to obtain 10, 25, 50, 75 and 90% of seeds to germinate were calculated. The results showed a reduction of these parameters for most of magnetic treatments, therefore their rate of germination was increased.

Growth data measured on the 7th and 10th day after seeding allowed us to corroborate the effect observed in germination tests. Treated plants grew higher and heavier than control; on the 10th day total length was greater than control plants exposed to stationary magnetic field, corresponding with increase of the total fresh weight. The greatest increases were obtained for plants continuously exposed to 125 or 250 mT. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0098847205001711

I am thinking ways to improve our gardens. Start by magnetizing clean water and magnetizing the seeds.

Soak magnetized seeds for 24 hours in clean magnetized water with 5 minerals recommended by Advancing Eco Ag. These 5 are manganese, molybdenum, zinc, copper and boron. Manganese is needed for photosynthesis. Molybdenum makes the enzyme nitrogenase which helps the plant make amino acids. Boron helps the plant roots make an initial growth. Boron in the cell wall protects the plant against both diseases and pests. Later on boron is need for pollination.

If you have a friend who gardens or have a garden of your own, get some magnets at Lowe's or elsewhere to see how germination is improved. Also try magnetizing clean water.

Tapes seed packets to edge of neodymium magnets for 3 hours. Great for sprouting and for raising plants.

Arden Andersen MD also has a PhD in biophysics. His first undergraduate degree was in agriculture. He recommends increasing paramagnetism so our plants can receive more energy from the atmosphere. He says we should magnetize water. He also recommends volcanic rock dust. You can measure the energy of volcanic rock dust so you know which one to buy.
