It took Chip six weeks to get one of my trucks back on the road. It took the machine shop three weeks to resurface the heads, they're so busy. The new/used car market is so tight that everybody under the sun is repairing their cars rather than buying new.
Some goober on NextDoor was asking why his mower he bought last year wouldn't start. Consensus was carb gum. I am telling you and telling you...do not let gas sit in mower over winter, it will eat rubber O-rings no matter how much StaBil you use.
We got morons here saying drain the tank and fill with SeaFoam. Oh shit yes, SeaFoam will strengthen the rings and shit, it's like flouride for IC 4-strokes, lol...
ps: I use Sta-Bil, left gas in mower over winter, carb was fucked up next spring, never had a problem if I run it dry/drain it.

That's weird, I have the opposite experience. I fill up the tanks all the way to get the air out and never had a problem. I think a big problem is the damn ethanol in the gas. Chris told me a station in New Haven has non-ethanol gas. If it's not too expensive, I might start using that in everything.
Another thing I do is use stabilized premium in my small engines. I've heard gas loses an octane point per month in storage. I guess engineered gas is supposed to be really good, but I think that's crazy high, like $40/gal.

That's always caused me grief. I figured it was the fuel residue gakking up.
I don't know about SeaFoam. I think Taryl might have tested that in his long-term dealie he did a year or so ago.
They will have to label E15 pumps as such, for now anyway. Just don't buy it. What was the cut-off, 2012?
What pisses me off is that Bidet acts like he is saving the environment, the country, and morality in general. The truth is, every gallon of ethanol requires two gallons of fossil fuel input to produce. The whole thing is a lie and a scam to enrich fat-cat insiders, and fucks up the environment far worse than us simpletons would do on our own with our crazy ideas about reducing vehicle weight or tuning for maximum MPG vs PPM on test equipment.
