Nikolayev sits atop Odessa on a map. After the Donbass falls, the Russian forces will take Odessa but first they will have to go through the supply point of Nikolayev. The Russian strategy is to cut off troops they are about to attack so no additional men and supplies can enter. They establish artillery fire control and then degrade opposition forces before attacking. I am sure this couple will see combat up close and personal in 2 to 3 weeks. Perhaps a CNN follow up interview for July 4th on American TV.
