Polling is so stupid.
Firstly, most people don’t have the time in their day to spent 20 minutes talking to some Indian. That reduces all polls to only including “people willing to spend 20 minutes on the phone with an Indian.”
Secondly, no one trusts that these polls are actually private, other than I guess the same kind of people willing to spend 20 minutes talking to an Indian.
Then you have the issue of how the questions are asked, and the fact that we know people will give opposite answers to questions based on the question’s framing and wording.
There is nothing more ridiculous than taking poll data straightforwardly. I don’t even know why we report on it. Probably because there is no other news.
