Especially from right-leaning commentators, much of the blame is placed on the current administration and the apparent increase of woke cultural initiatives and vaccine mandates. Prominent right wing personality and veteran BowTiedRanger lists three reasons: BowTiedRanger @BowTiedRanger The 3 main reasons people arent joining the military: 1. People dont want to die for the regimes neoliberal agenda 2. The military is woke now & no longer exemplifies peak masculine culture 3. 💉 mandates exposed how little the regime actually cares about its service members Among Americans surveyed by the Pentagon who were in the target age range for recruiting, only 13% had parents who had served in the military, down from approximately 40% in 1995. The military considers parents one of the biggest influencers for service. Why is it that the proportion of people whose parents served decreased by 68%, while the size of the active duty military is roughly the same as it was in 2000? (I select this year since this is about when people who were serving would now have enlistment age children). One plausible answer is that children of veterans of the Global War on Terror are simply not interested in joining the military after seeing what their families and friends have been through, on and off the battlefield. And who can blame them? They even say so, again from the NBC article: More than half of the young Americans who answered the surveyabout 57%think they would have emotional or psychological problems after serving in the military. Nearly half think they would have physical problems. They think theyre going to be physically or emotionally broken after serving, said one senior U.S. military official familiar with the recruiting issues, who believes a lack of familiarity with military service contributes to that perception. The military official seems to be dismissive of the concerns of young people by claiming that a lack of familiarity with the military is at fault, but how can that be the case for people whose parents were themselves veterans? Contrary to his suggestion, could it be instead that the children of these individuals have an excellent understanding of what military service entails, especially for combat veterans? The reason that these young people have this impression of the military is precisely because their role models left a negative impression of the military on them. Old Mechanic 🩸🇺🇸 @OldMechanic2 I'm shocked.... The US Military Went Woke, Now It Cant Find Recruits The Army is at only 40% of its recruiting numbers for the fiscal year despite raising its maximum enlistment bonus from $40,000 to $50,000. Poster Comment: 1) The Woke military wants soldiers to shower with transgenders. 2) What good will $50,000 do you when that vaxx gives you blood clots, myocarditis and cancer? 3) Who wants to die because Biden and Israel wants you to go to war because Israel's neighbors do not like them? Their policy is to kill Muslims until they learn to love us. I don't think that will work. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
