After Being Banned by Other Countries for Pushing Up House Prices

Poster Comment:

3 reasons have been offered:

1) Chinese are using homes in the US for pregnant women from China to get anchor baby citizenship for their child.

2) They want to use electronics to spy on military and scientific installations.

3) They want our food. China cannot produce enough food for 1.4 billion people. And Bidet is the only one stupid enough to export food to China with Americans struggling to buy food.

Mexico does not allow foreign ownership of real estate, we should have a similar policy.

We should also have a policy that increases the tax on corporate ownership of real estate. I would apply this to single family dwellings, but not apartment complexes (leave the tax structure the way it is). I realize this would have to be done at the State level. It could be done to still allow private individuals to own rental properties as an investment, but the taxes should still be higher for owning rentals rather than owner occupied property.

And I would create progressive taxation of farmland to make it prohibitive to own more than a private individual can operate. Keep bumping up the tax rate for each 10,000 acres, something like that. Also a State issue.

Of course I would also get rid of Section-8, or more specifically limit it to elderly and disabled. This program tranfers billions to slumlords every year.

I would take a look at farm subsidies. Cut off all subsidies after the first 2,000 acres. Stop the ethanol corn subsidy altogether. We are running low on water resources out West anyway so cut out subsidies in areas that require too much water and subsidize new crops that would use less.

I was going to mention subsidies. No subsidies for foreign owners, no subsidies for corporations over a certain size (I have to guess some independent farmers incorporate for tax purposes.)
