'Do I know that the boxes of material they took from Mar-a-Lago, that they wont put things into those boxes to entrap him?' questions Sen. Paul (R-Ky.) Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) worries the Biden Justice Department may have planted evidence on President Donald Trump during their raid on his Mar- A-Lago resort Monday.
Speaking to Fox & Friends Wednesday, Paul who a presidential rival of Trumps in 2016 said its not beyond the realm of possibility the FBI could do this given their past track record.
Do I know that the boxes of material they took from Mar-a-Lago, that they wont put things into those boxes to entrap him? Paul asked.
He continued: How do we know?
How do we know theyre going to be honest with us about whats actually in the boxes? How do we know that was in the box before it left the residence if the lawyers werent allowed to see everything?
The theory that incriminating evidence may have been planted during the raid and search of the resort was also espoused by President Trump Wednesday, with him revealing the FBI would not let his people access areas being searched that day.
The FBI and others from the Federal Government would not let anyone, including my lawyers, be anywhere near the areas that were rummaged and otherwise looked at during the raid on Mar-a-Lago, Trump said Wednesday on Truth Social, his social media platform.
Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be left alone, without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, planting. Why did they STRONGLY insist on having nobody watching them, everybody out? Obama and Clinton were never raided, despite big disputes!
It remains to be seen what, if any, information or evidence the FBI gleans from its raid or whether the agency will be forced to explain itself in light of considerable political blowback.
