The Chicago Outfit had a car that was used to do hits on people that crossed them. There were two rifles hidden in a compartment in the rear of the front bench seat. There was a switch on the dash that could be thrown by the driver to open the compartment.

But if you were a member of the mob and you double crossed them, it was set up with people they knew in the suburbs to use their basements for hits. If you were on your way down those basement stairs, you could kiss your ass goodbye. ;)
