Mothers Against Illegal Aliens' founder: job of illegal immigrants' children is "to dumb down the American children and overpopulate our schools"

Summary: On Fox News' Your World, Michelle Dallacroce, the founder of Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, asserted that there is no reason "that we have to have" immigrant women and children in the United States, since there are no jobs for "the women and the children [to] do ... other than their children's job is to dumb down the American children and overpopulate our schools."

During a panel discussion on the May 18 edition of Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto, Michelle Dallacroce, the founder of Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, asserted that there is no reason "that we have to have" immigrant women and children in the United States, since there are no jobs for "the women and the children [to] do ... other than their children's job is to dumb down the American children and overpopulate our schools." Dallacroce made her remark in response to a comment by Linda Chavez, president of the Center for Equal Opportunity, who argued that "we need to have an avenue for more people to come legally," because, "[w]e're creating two million jobs a year and we need these people."

As Media Matters for America previously noted, Your World recently aired a segment asking whether the May 1 "Day Without Immigrants" protests were "freedom of expression or economic terrorism."

From the May 18 edition of Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto:

DALLACROCE: Well, I drove about three hours this morning just to get an opportunity to deliver about 1,500 e-mails that I have received from mothers and grandmothers and all Americans all in America, ever since I've been on Fox talking about our children, and these are all of them right here -- every single one. And I wasn't having the opportunity to do that and it's very disappointing.

I was actually hoping that -- for the compassion -- for the president to know that I made my way all the way here to deliver this to see that he loved the American children as much as he cares about our neighbors that he cares so much about. And one thing I'd like to have issue with him is that the dignity that he talks about giving to these people, the dignity that he is stripping from the American people and the legal American residents and the legal immigrants that have come to our country is what he's stripping when he talks about the dignity of rewarding illegal aliens by giving them citizenship or a path to it.

CAVUTO: Linda Chavez, what do you think of that? Is he doing that? He says it's not amnesty. I have heard conservatives say it is. What do you think?

CHAVEZ: Well, I think what he's doing is acting in the best interest of the United States. We have a need for labor. People want to come here to work. We have employers who want to hire them. And the problem has been that they've been coming illegally. I think nobody can support the idea of somebody breaking the law and coming in against the law, and that's why we are now going to have a fence across more of the border; we're going to have more border patrol agents to get people who come illegally but we need to have an avenue for more people to come legally. We're creating two million jobs a year and we need these people.

DALLACROCE: Well, I'm -- I have a question. What jobs do the women and the children do that we have to have them here other than their children's job is to dumb down the American children and overpopulate our schools? And until the president starts talking about how these illegal children and women are affecting our country, that's not a comprehensive plan.

This dumb twit is merely exploiting this issue by creating hatred and alarm that is unjustified and incendiary.

Why do these people not see that the true villains in this issue are those who enticed people into this country to leverage one work force against another?

Why do they not take on those business leaders who make incredible profit by disenfranchising Americans from job security, benefits and wage levels?

Answer: Because these people are incredibly powerful politically and economically and like any bully, they pick the easy target. It would be a bloody battle if they took on those who worked to build the immigrant demographics, so they pick on those in the issue with relatively no political savvy or resources to fight back.

Stop picking on the economic whores, and hang the Business leader pimps. It would be a costly battle on the short term, but pay far more dividends and be far more beneficial on the long term.

It is the CFR, the government and corporate interests.. that are to blame for this.. NAFTA caused the Mexican influx into this country ..destroyed local farmers.. and their local economies.. If Bush etc that were truthfully concerned about the Mexicans then the administration would work with Fox to help FIX the Mexican economy.. I do though believe that the law must be followed and the illegals need to be deported..

Except they will not be deported. I agree largely with your well articulated take on just who is to blame for this problem. However, I do not believe that prioritizing the offenses so the jaywalking is made into the capital offense and the hit and run massacre of people by a drunk driver is thought to perhaps deserve a status as a ticketable infraction - to use that as an analogy for the offenses of those who came here versus those of those who enticed them here.

When the anti-immigration issue becomes responsible, has focus and the courage to take on the dangerous criminals in all this, then perhaps you will get me to move some of my own focus as to who stays and who goes.

Even then, I will never, ever support a wholesale deportation. That is unworkable and mean spirited and destroys important elements of this country that made it what it is. If such an action was ever attempted, count me in as one of those who would actively work to derail it.

The influx of Hispanic culture to our city of Eugene has largely benefited and enriched us. So the best I would ever possibly support would be a lessening of the demographics involved with this wave of immigrants, not the eradication of it.

Well on this we do disagree.. although I do have sympathy for the Mexican's plight which was caused by outside interests.. What is happening is the influx is first hurting the poor Americans.. their jobs taken first.. and now its the middle class plus we cannot afford this .. hospitals shutting down..and the school systems are totally overloaded.. our country is at the breaking point for many reasons.. but the illegal issue as well as the expansion of outsourcing and H1-B visas is causing the unemployment problem .. it is IMO the most disasterous issue we're now facing..

Those that enticed those folks here are counting on their patsy population becoming the heavy in all this. I see an incredibly tragic missed opportunity in this issue.

If illegals were networked with to enlist as allies, it would be far easier to take on those who so cruelly and in a Machiavellian fashion set one people against another to reap themselves huge economic benefits.

Remember that an earlier influx of people from the drought struck "dust bowl" states during the Great Depression was also created by advertising and influence of much the same sort of business interest to create cheap labor in California.

Remember too that these "Okies" were hated and vilified, with much the same rhetoric in play as today concerning how these people would destroy the cultural integrity of the Golden State.

California survived, and all those people and their descendants have long been assimilated into local culture. Not taking on those who created "The Grapes or Wrath" situation has resulted in encouraging business leaders to recreate the windfall of the 1930s today using Latinos and Latinas instead of 'Okies.'

Think about it, as what is tragic about this issue is we are reliving history largely because we never learned it's lessons. And this is largely because as those who created the problem then were never taken on it was and is very hard to do so.
