Title: Russia Shuts Down Nuclear Plant Because Ukrainians Won’t Stop Shelling It

It’s a sad day for nuclear power plants all over the world, as one of their brothers is forced to retire due to the savage Ukrainian hatred of electricity.

RT:

The last working power unit was switched off at the Russia-controlled Zaporozhye nuclear power station early on Sunday, the local authorities and the plant’s Ukrainian operator said.

The sixth reactor “was stopped at 3:45am. Now it doesn’t generate electricity,” Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye Region administration, told RIA-Novosti.

The decision to shut down was made due to continued shelling of the plant by Ukraine and damage to the power lines, he said. The constantly changing mode in which the reactors and turbines were forced to operate, because of the attacks, created the risk of an accident, the official explained.

According to Rogov, the unit had already been operating at minimum capacity for several days.

Ukrainian state-owned company Energoatom has also confirmed the so- called ‘cold shutdown’ of the last unit, with the Zaporozhye facility coming to a complete halt.

The largest nuclear power plant in Europe has been controlled by Russian forces since March, but is still operated by Ukrainian staff.

Moscow has warned that the continued attacks could cause a nuclear disaster that would eclipse the 1986 Chernobyl incident and affect many countries in Europe.

Ukraine claims that Russia has turned the plant into a military base and that it is shelling the facility itself in order to pin the blame on Kiev.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), whose inspectors visited the plant in early September, has demanded that all attacks on the plant “be stopped immediately,” but refrained from identifying the party responsible for them.

Yeah, that was the gayest and most retarded thing I’ve seen yet – what does that even mean? “Oh well, we can’t say who’s doing it, but they better stop!”

I didn’t think it was possible for the nuclear team to just blame Russia, but I didn’t even think of the possibility that they would say “well, we’re not going to say who it is, but they know who they are…”

I figured they would say the Ukraine was doing it, then the UN would issue a retraction 24 hours later saying “oh, actually, Russia is probably doing it.”

This is of course after the Ukraine tried to blow up the UN convoy.

These people are just total psychos.

The Russians took out 3 non-nuclear power plants in he Ukraine. They did it because the Ukraine has electric power trains and were using the trains to move hundreds of military vehicles. I suppose while the trains are stopped those vehicles are targets of opportunity for Russian missiles.

The Ukrainians claim they have hundreds of thousands of new volunteers who have been trained by the British. Those training courses last two weeks. The Ukrainians had 30,000 plus casualties in the last week raising their total to 230,000 so far. (These estimates are from two Ukrainian sources). In 3 or 4 weeks the Ukrainians will have few people skilled enough to be a tank commander or to run an artillery crew. They have lost 100,000 plus men to desertion and capture.

That I don't believe, having watched a documentary on the accident, which is a stretch to call an accident as it was reported the event occurred due to massive neglect. If the reactor is shut down, the worst that could/should happen is a shell or missile explosion sending some radioactive material around the local area. What happened at Chernobyl was basically a nuclear explosion involving far more nuclear material than is used in a typical nuclear bomb but which lacked the precision detonation mechanism that nuclear bombs rely on for the massive mushroom cloud power release. That combined with a hydrogen gas explosion that blew the top off and allowed all the radiation to vent.
