speaker's husband met during drunken night out in San Francisco: Cops say attacker arrived with bag of zip ties New Twitter CEO Elon Musk used his freedom of speech platform to promote a theory suggesting Paul Pelosi's attacker was a gay prostitute.
In response to a tweet by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday, the 51-year-old billionaire shared a link to an article suggesting the House Speaker's husband left a San Francisco gay bar with David DePape early Friday morning before he was allegedly attacked with a hammer.
Responding to Clinton's tweet that the attack was the fault of Republican 'mouthpieces' spreading 'hate and deranged conspiracy theories,' Musk said: 'There's a tiny possibility there may be more to this story than meets the eye.'
Musk spoke as police sources told CNN that DePape arrived at the Pelosi home with a bag of zip ties.
He then shared a link to a story published by an obscure outlet called the Santa Monica Observer, which appears to have crashed since its story was highlighted by Musk.
The story, which can still be accessed in an online archive, was headlined: 'The Awful Truth: Paul Pelosi Was Drunk Again, And In a Dispute With a Male Prostitute Early Friday Morning.'
