Russia's defence minister said on Wednesday that the armed forces should use new advanced weapons systems in the conflict in Ukraine.

"It is necessary to continue the modernisation and creation of promising systems with their subsequent use during the special military operation," Sergei Shoigu said at a defence ministry meeting of senior generals.

Shoigu, one of President Vladimir Putin's closest allies, did not specify which advanced weapons should be used, though he said he wanted to discuss with the generals new ways of improving artillery and missile attacks.

"New ways of using them in combat are being tested," Shoigu said, without giving specifics.

Russia will have 1,000 MLRS rocket launchers on the frontline in January. They can fire 12,000 rocket artillery projectiles in 12 seconds. It takes 20 minutes to reload and program in targets so they can fire again.

Range 200 to 300 KM. 120 to 180 miles. Warhead: 248 to 255 KGs. Can be armor piercing or smaller for anti-personnel. Older versions fire up to 40 smaller rockets.

They can fire 12,000 rocket artillery projectiles in 12 seconds.

But that simply requires a massive number of manufactured rockets to use on a regular basis, all of which need to be manufactured and delivered. All countries are limited in how much/many weapons can be created. What is Russia's limit?

Russia has been firing 20,000 or more artillery shells a day since February 24th and are likely to continue firing that many or more every day. Russia is like Detroit back before NAFTA when we sent 80,000 manufacturing jobs overseas.

Also, they have Iran to sell them drones and old rockets with 1,100 pound warheads. And China has the greatest assembly lines ever. Western writers were saying in March that Russia was running low on rockets and artillery. The Ukrainians will run out of soldiers first. Poland is already floating an idea of letting people vote in certain areas to determine if they should join Poland or stay in the Ukraine.

Much of that depends on if those areas have a Polish speaking population.
