Try as I might over the last weeks, news and commentary is not relevant to this forum.

No problem here, every ship has its course/mission

Now mind you, this is not an opus as I may post a "earth swallowed by a busty lesbian" article as need warrants.

I thank all of you for the consideration and kindness afforded to me at this venue.

Take care and tamp the ground before you.

See ya around.

Speaking for myself; I prefer to read the articles, digest them, and move on. I'll grant you articles posted at other forums may wind up with several hundred responses, but 90% of those responses are irrelevant fluff, or turn into pissing matches between people who need to get over themselves. Look at the one here the other day between AKA Stone and those lesbian witches...what a snoozer. If I want to hear people yelling and screaming at each other; I can go to a city council meeting when the school budget is being discussed. In that case, there is always the possibility that somebody's clothes might get ripped off. :-)

My persona exists in that netherworld of irrelevant fluff....

I'm so ashamed.

I wonder if Neil has thought about booting me, yet?

Do you like kitties as much as you like horsies?

Not too crazy about pink kitties.........but I love cats, dogs, horses, and most other animals.

Right now I have a mustang and a cutting quarter horse living on my property. My 18-1.2 year old brother and sister cats died a couple of years back. Only have my 3-legged Border Collie, Luv, now.

Tell me more about the horses!

A mustang is what HILDAGO was, right? ;)

And, what's a cutting quarter horse?

(I ride mules, mostly! The Dupont Company supplies everyone in Delaware with free mules. Yep, I just go to the corner hitching post and grab any available mule and ride him to a post near my home! [wink] )

Who or what is HILDAGO?

This one's name is Wolf; his owner broke mustans for BLM; had a chance to get him, so he did. This is a horse worth knowing. Seriously. His owner uses him to move cattle, to check range conditions, etc. Last year, on one of the big outings, the ranch owner provided water for the riders....not Dom Perrione, but Wolf's Dad got PEACH flavored water. At one of the stops, he dismounted and opened his water bottle for a swig. Wolf turned to him with his lip quivering, so owner poured a tad in the palm of his hand; Wolf slurped it up; after a couple of times of that, and the ol' boy trying to get to the bottle top, the owner just stuck it in his mouth and poured it--like when they put a tube of worming med in their mouth.

Wolfer loved it. Owner makes sure they have a bottle of peach for all their trips!

The cutting horse is a registered quarter horse that is used for close in working with cattle, to separate an animal from the rest of the herd--something they do not like to do, that is, to be separated from the rest of the cattle. This horse is Hawk. And he's a hoot and a half, too. Get a rider in the saddle and he is fearless in working to split cows and calves.

And yet here, last year, there were 2 cows sharing the pasture. One was a late calver and the other had a calf with a broken leg. Anytime that calf would come near Hawk, he'd run like hell--scared of the baby!

Buck likes to use Wolf in the wild terrain out here. He's really a sure-footed animal and an extremely easy keeper. He will eat sage brush, weeds, whatever...not picky at all. We believe that comes from his being out on the desert range til he was captured, about 2 years old.

Hawk is usable out on the range, but he is more valuable with the ranch work he can do--like splitting cattle out to be worked on.

Before the place next door sold, my neighbors had mules. Good riding mules. The wife preferred riding the mules. They can be onery and contrary. When I had my sheep here, the neighbors put a hot line up over the top of the fencing to keep the mules from reaching over or thru the fence to grab the sheep.

Who or what is HILDAGO?

HILDAGO is a film starring Viggo Mortensen and a horse.

And, the mules would grab the sheep?

Now, that's what I call authentic frontier gibberish! ;)

Call it whatever you want. They have been known to pick sheep, basically lambs or yearlings, up by the wool/skin of their spines. And why would I know that.....because the neighbors were aware of it. Bonnie was a sheep producer from a long time back. She actually spent time in the 'wilderness' with sheepherder's wagon and dogs doing summer herding of BANDS of sheep....a band being 1500 ewes with babies.

Before I moved in here, I had a fencing guy come in with a crew and put up sheeptight fencing all around the place--to keep dogs and other critters out. Bonnie knew I was moving sheep in from them. And when the sheep actually arrived they started putting up the electric fencing. At the time, IIRC, they had 5 mules in their pasture which abutts to mine.

Wanna argue about horses biting? I can refer you to an article where they just put down a stallion for knocking the handler down, trying to maul her with his knees (7 broken ribs, punctured lung) and severe horse bites all over her back. And this was a horse 'under control'--not just running loose.

Actually, horses and mules scare me.

I don't want to be close to either end of them. And, I don't want to get run over by a wagon they're pulling, the way my grandpa Gabby HOUNDDAWG was!
