Elon Musk tweeted Tuesday night that he would step down from the CEO role at Twitter Inc. after finding a successor. This comes two days after he asked users whether he should step down -- most respondents answered "Yes." "I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!" Musk tweeted. But the billionaire will still be running "the software & servers teams." These are critical areas at the social media company to control product decisions. Musk's tweet was in response to a Sunday night poll that asked users whether he should step down as head of the company. The survey attracted 17.5 million votes, with 57.7% of respondents voting "Yes." After suggestions were made that bots might have skewed the survey, an actual poll with real people conducted by Harris, a voter research company, found the opposite result, with 61% of respondents voting "Yes" for Musk to continue his crusade to liberate Twitter. Musk had previously based decision-making at Twitter on "Polls." And it appears he has kept his promise (so far). On Sunday, Musk told 122 million Twitter followers that he had no successor in mind. "No one who wants the job can actually keep Twitter alive," he tweeted. The news comes as Tesla investors complain that Musk's chaos over at Twitter is impacting Tesla's performance. Shares in the EV company have plunged more than 60% this year. On Tuesday alone, shares fell 8%. In premarket trading, shares are up more than 2% on the news. In the future, Musk has also said voting on major policy decisions will only be done by paying Twitter Blue subscribers. Poster Comment: Tesla isn't failing because of Twitter, Tesla is going under because the EV market is a dead end. EVs aren't sustainable or practical and the only idiots that want electric cars are leftists that typically don't have jobs or money. With GM, Ford, Chrysler/Dodge, Rivian, etc. getting into the market, it is WAY oversaturated and most of them will fail. Twitter ain't got nuthin' to do with it. Toyota seems to be the only automaker not hobbled by kooky "green" delusions.

One EV that progressives fell in love with was the Chevrolet Bolt. For those who made the switch to the Bolt ... we have bad news: General Motors Company has recalled 140,000 Bolts in North America because of fire risk. Here's more from Reuters on the recall: The U.S. automaker said the recall covers various 2017 through 2023 model year Chevrolet Bolt EV vehicles due to rare instances of front seatbelt pretensioner exhaust gases coming in contact with floor carpeting fibers, after a vehicle crash, which could cause a fire. About 120,000 U.S. vehicles and 20,000 Canadian vehicles are impacted by the recall. Not only is there recall due to fire risk, but also Bolt owners have to deal with extreme 'winter range anxiety' as colder temperatures can reduce range by as much as 32%. Teslas vehicles, on average, lost around 16.5% of range in cold weather. This isn't the first fire risk for Bolts. There has been a series of other recalls where General Motors asked Bolt owners to park "at least 50 feet" from other vehicles due to battery fire risks.
