Ugh. This is supposed to get here late Thursday/Friday. Local WX says high Fri is supposed to be 2 with a low of 1. I got the snow blower staged and ready to go yesterday when it warmed up a little.
Last year it was so warm about that time, the gnats were swarming when I had company and ended up with a house full of gnats. Took until about mid Jan to get rid of them.
I'm about 120 mi ESE of the southern tip of lake Michigan.
WX 39.5 WFWA is showing -8. When the weather gets uppity this way, the temp usually dips significantly just before sunrise, I might see -10 or below.
I looked out the side door of my garage, the handle and deadbolt had ice on them, the snow didn't look like much, I could see the top of the grass, but I can't see much from there. I didn't open the overhead door, temps this low don't play well with mechanical equipment. I'll go out later after I gear up and look around. It's not that important.

I don't think that's going to be a problem this year. No gnats or company.
(Edit) It dropped to -9 at 0818, looks like only about an inch of snow, not really enough to drift much, the streets are snow covered. Winds are howling out of the west at 25mph & gusty.
That was "The Storm of a Generation." About the worst of it is the cold is really making the arthritis in my hands hurt pretty bad. I've notified WANE TV that I'll be holding a press conference at noon, 1700 Zulu to whine about my hands.
