What is not mentioned is how the Jews got into Palestine in the first place.

The reason the Jews wanted to go to Palestine was the Balfour Declaration (1917) which was written by Lord Arthur Balfour, the British Foreign Secretary. It promised the Jews a national homeland in Palestine which was a part of the Brirish Mandate. Palestine was once claimed by the Turks and Turkey was on the losing side in WW I.
This Declaration was presented to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland.
