Tiny pieces of plastic debris – smaller than the human eye can see – have been building up on the sea floor at a depth of more than 100 metres, a study revealed. Scientists said this mimics the increasing amount of plastic products used by society for things such as packaging, bottles and clothing.
And it shows the world is still 'far from' achieving a reduction in single-use plastic, they warned.
