The biosecurity measures all of the farmers infected or not, like not having visitors on your properties... covering your workers from head to toe in bio suits and constantly and meticulously disinfecting... is expensive and mind-numbing,
And Guess where the very much alive birds go? They get hauled away by some state agency. That is what has happened here in Minnesota. The birds are gathered up and taken away ALIVE.
Eggs were $3/dozen this morning. Probably more expensive than a month ago, but what isn't? I would have bought some just to hoard or sell on the black market, but I already had like 14 at home, and wanted to use those for food before going headlong into any sort of racketeering.
