This video echo's my experience of unending lies.
Last August I ended the Lease of a tenant who got married, moved in a wife, then started a family by getting a pitbull puppy. Puppy terrorized neighbors and they finally called me. I now knew why he was not wanting to let maintenance into his apartment. He snuck in a puppy.
I texted him: "Tell me about your DOG." A: I ain't got no dog Me : Yes.. you do A: He ain't my dog. He belongs to my brother, he's in China. Me: First sentence of Clause 19(No pets) says this clause forbids pet sitting for others. Why is that first? Because it's the first lie tenants try. I am sending you a copy from YOUR lease of Pet Clause A: I ain't lying Me: Yes...you are. Your only hope with me is telling the truth. A: How can you expect me to remember the Lease? That was two years ago. (This gives me pause. An excuse/lie I never heard before. Thought I had heard it all) At this moment the screaming wife in background calls me a copulating female dog. Me: OK, I heard that. Games over. I am ending your Lease with 30 days notice and also starting eviction for breaching lease. You have 10 days to get rid of dog or I evict. If you get rid of dog, then you have 30 days to get out. A: I DINDU NUFFIN
Lots of drama before he and foul mouthed wife got out. They got into a fistfight with side neighbors for calling me and cops called, but he DINDU NUFFIN He and wife trapped upstairs neighbor on porch and held her prisoner while they screamed at her and cops called. That was neighbor's fault as she used the N word.
Then he tries for mercy and sends me a cute puppy pic saying:"This dog ain't a pitbull, he's a black lab. When I bought him the seller thought I would pay more for a pitbull(So much for the brother in China and Puppy has white toes and stand up ears)". Sigh lie upon lie..give truth a try. Me: I have raised labs and they have floppy ears and a longer face. At best that pup is a black lab/pitbull mix. A: I took him to the vet and he said he was a lab. Me: Find a new vet and get out of my house.
I am quitting the landlord business. Convinced by the eviction moratorium, but also by the fact that good tenants are hard to find and I spend too much of my life being mean to bad tenants.
