Despite the Constitution's impositions and the War Powers Resolution of 1973, various Presidents have authorized the use of military force without Congressional approval.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has brought the War Powers Resolution back into Congress to force President Biden to remove US forces from Syria.
According to Fox News, despite President Biden stating no US troops are present in Syria, an estimated 900 remain in the country. This includes four servicemembers wounded in a mission to assassinate a senior leader of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL).
Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) was willing to praise President Biden for the killing, saying that "we currently have NONE of these capabilities to address the resurgence of ISIS and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and I hope the Biden Administration takes necessary steps to address this growing threat."
