Suns were down by 9 with about 7 minutes left. down by 1 point while in-bounding at 4 seconds left. hit the shot with 1 seconds left. then dallas got ball and by some fluke phoenix got it back and made 2 free throws icing on cake.
league MVP Steve Nash had 27 points, 16 assists and 5 rebounds. shot 11 for 18 and 2 for 5 from 3. made 3 of 3 free throws. and enabled boris diaw to score 34.
Dallas went home disappointed on their own court. maybe they shouldn't have traded steve nash?
I can't get the story right for nothing, it was so exciting.
suns were 9 points down with 3:43 left in game, dallas crowd was cheering loudly tasting victory. suns took the game. crowd was still cheering with 5 seconds left when they scored and were ahead by 1. but suns still won. and then hit 1 field goal and 2 free throws in 1 second to win by 3. crowd was silent. everyone was shocked.
that is exactly how they beat the clippers in game 6 of that series.
will the suns produce another triple over-time game in the nba finals like they did in 1976 & 1993? I think they can play with anybody.
but starter raja bell was injured and will be out for a few games it seems. steve nash was not injured. he's 6'2", white and best player in the NBA.
Pulling out a victory didn't seem like a strong possibility for Steve Nash and the Suns late in the fourth quarter. They trailed by nine with just 3:26 remaining before the two-time MVP turned Dallas' home court into his personal playground. Nash scored Phoenix's next 10 points on a pair of 3-pointers, a layup and two foul shots. With the deficit trimmed to one, he went back to his familiar role of passer, finding Shawn Marion for the go-ahead hoop with 43 ticks left as the Suns hung on for a 121-118 road win in Game 1 of the West finals Wednesday. For his efforts, Nash earned 10 Nestlé Crunch Time Points.
an incredible end to that game.
Suns play again tomorrow night. They only need to win 7 more games to win it all.
