After a performance by David Byrne, Son Lux and Stephanie Hsu of a song from Everything Everywhere All at Once, the screen went black and up popped and ad read for the big pharma leaders, followed by an ad for their new Covid antiviral.
It was one of several ads for Pfizer that ran throughout the hours-long Oscar broadcast. The company is one of the ceremony's 'lead sponsors,' according to The Hollywood Reporter, along with Rolex and Verizon.
