For many electric vehicles, there is no way to repair or assess even slightly damaged battery packs after accidents, forcing insurance companies to write off cars with few miles - leading to higher premiums and undercutting gains from going electric.

Get ready, the "Sustainable" crowd's going to have their panties in a wad over the batteries littering the landscape soon. Not sure what the do with them, but the piles of disposed ones will eventually make tire fires look like campfires.

The sustainable crowd is only selectively aggrieved; the billions of used face masks that litter the planet -- carelessly discarded by the globe's vast flock of compliant sheep -- don't bother them at all.
