FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — For over two decades, peregrine falcons have laid eggs atop the tallest building in Fort Wayne: the Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) Center [formerly One Summit Square].

This year is no different as the I&M Falcon Cam has captured a peregrine falcon taking care of four eggs in a nesting box at the top of the building.

According to I&M, the first egg was spotted March 13 and the fourth egg was seen on March 19.

“The Falcon Cam is popular with avian fans, local students and people tuning in from all over the world,” said Kelly Rentschler, External Affairs manager. “We are excited to have eggs in the nest again this year and look forward to naming and banding the chicks in a few months.

The falcon pair that laid the eggs are believed to have laid at least 33 eggs in the nesting box since 2013, according to I&M.

The livestream is a collaborative effort between I&M, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation Center, and it can be watched either on I&M’s website or on the company’s YouTube channel.

Reminds me of the guy who got busted for shooting a hawk. Want to hear the story?

I don't know. That story about the school board meeting I posted left my stomach kinda edgy. I'm thinkin' about breakin' out the whiskey already.

TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy…
but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the Men who just wanted to be left alone.”

Bring on the hawk story, I need a laugh today. Thanks.

Yeah, I think I'm ready. I've been working on Australia time today. Usually, I don't have to go east of Greenwich.

An old man was ticketed for shooting and killing a hawk. In court he argued that the only reason he shot it was because he was hungry and didn't have anything to eat. The judge felt sorry for the old man, and let him off.

After the case was dismissed, out in the hallway the game warden asked the old man, "I'm curious, old man. What does hawk taste like anyway?"

The old man thought about it for a minute, then answered, "Oh, about half way between a peregrine falcon and a bald eagle."

OK, you got me. FW's pet falcons normally soar pretty high around here. One came down low, maybe about 12 feet above my head when I wasn't expecting it in my yard. It really startled me. That's when I learned how big they actually are.

I was up at 0315 solar time this morning (0500 EDT). I had a shower and a shave, cleaned both my potties, had my laundry done and my dinner laid out before it even got light this morning.

I'll make a good wife for the the next babe that comes down the pike.

I've seen them in both Portland and Seattle. Usually dining on the winged rats - pigeons.
