The Chinese spy balloon that drifted across the US in February collected intelligence from several sensitive American military sites and transmitted the information back to Beijing in real time — while the Biden administration held off on intercepting it for days, according to a shocking report.

The device — which was shot down off the coast of South Carolina on Feb. 4, seven days after it first entered US airspace — made multiple passes over some key installations, at times flying in a figure-eight to ensure maximum data collection, according to NBC News, which cited two current senior US officials and one former White House official.

The outlet added that the intelligence China collected mostly came from electronic signals, which may have emitted from weapons systems or communications by personnel at various bases.

The Pentagon has not confirmed which sites were spied on by China, but key installations in the balloon’s path included Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, one of three bases that maintains and operates Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles; Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, the headquarters of US Strategic Command, which oversees America’s nuclear forces; and Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina, which hosts two nuclear submarine squadrons.

AP spy balloon The balloon made multiple passes over some key locations and was able to send Beijing the information it gathered in real time. AP US officials previously said the balloon was equipped with antennas capable of collecting communications signals and also carried large solar panels that could run various data sensors.

The balloon first entered US airspace over Alaska on Jan. 28, though the Pentagon did not confirm its existence until Feb. 2, as it traveled over Montana and was spotted by civilians. In its initial statement, the Defense Department said it had “acted immediately” to protect against the collection of sensitive information, though it did not say what those actions were.

“The surveillance balloon, we believe, had limited ability to collect any additional intelligence beyond what could be collected through other surveillance means,” White House spokesperson Olivia Dalton told reporters on board Air Force One Monday, “and I just don’t have anything beyond that to add.”

spy balloon Chinese officials have maintained that the balloon was weather-related and strayed off its intended course. AP The Biden administration also downplayed the balloon in the days after it was shot down, with the president himself saying Feb. 9 that it was “not a major breach.”

“Look, the total amount of intelligence gathering that’s going on by every country around the world is overwhelming,” the 80-year-old commander-in- chief told Telemundo at the time.

In the same interview, Biden defended waiting so long to shoot the aircraft down.

balloon US officials have rejected Beijing’s claims that the balloon was not for intelligence surveillance. REUTERS “I said I wanted it shot down as soon as possible and [the intelligence community and Defense Department] were worried about the damage that can be done even in a big state like Montana,” the president said. “This thing was gigantic. What happened if it came down and hit a school in a rural area? So, I told them as soon as they can shoot it down, shoot it down. They made a wise decision.”

“The [Chinese Communist Party] spy balloon should have never been allowed to enter US airspace,” House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) told The Post Monday. “The balloon collected data from some of our most sensitive military sites and that was not by accident, it was by design. It is unacceptable the Biden administration allowed this direct threat to US national security to occur.”

“This is what happens when you have an administration that treats national security crises as PR challenges,” tweeted Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in response to the report.

balloon shot down It took US officials 12 days to collect all of the debris from the balloon after it was shot down off the coast of South Carolina. AP balloon Pieces of the balloon were transported to a lab for investigation. AP China has maintained that the balloon was part of a civilian meteorological research project that strayed off course — claims the US has called bogus.

State Department officials have said Beijing deployed similar balloons in more than 40 countries recently and that the balloon shot down off the East Coast “was clearly for intelligence surveillance and inconsistent with the equipment onboard weather balloons.”

Officials have not said what agency in China was responsible for the spy balloon, which also featured a self-destruct mechanism that could have been activated by officials there. It’s unclear if the mechanism suffered a malfunction or if China chose not to destroy the balloon.

US officials tasked with picking up the pieces of the spy craft described the balloon as close to 200 feet tall with a payload the size of a regional jetliner, producing debris that took 12 days to collect.

The Navy transported pieces of the balloon to shore, where they were taken into custody by federal investigators and sent to the FBI Lab at Quantico, Va.

Officials hope to use the debris to learn about the balloon’s purpose and gain insight into China’s spy balloon program.

The reason why this is happening, is because the Chinese have the Manchurian Candidate in power. Ever stop to think why it was so important for the democrats to win? If Clinton had won in 2016, all of this shit would have happened on her watch. Imagine had this happened under Hillary. Civil War would have come so much sooner. They softened us up with Covid. Made people crazy with fear and then injected millions of our citizens with a toxic cocktail that is going to kill about half the population by 2025. Making plenty of room for more immigrants, Chinese businesses, and the ongoing extinction agenda against the white people of this country.

It’s why on every single front, white men are the target.

You can thank everyone who voted for this travesty.

He didn’t shoot it down because he’s a Chinese puppet.

Of Course he is. And his bosses in Beijing ordered him and the traitor Milley to not shoot it down until its mission was done. That would be a fitting end for General Arnold - a hemp rope on a Chinese balloon.
