A team of Chinese researchers reviewed all available studies comparing dietary sugar consumption and health outcomes in people who were previously free from acute or chronic diseases. The researchers found several harmful associations between dietary sugar consumption and chronic diseases.

They make no mention for white sugar vs natural sugar present in just about all fruits, or brown & unprocessed cane sugar which I have access to. The sugar I use is not white. It's orange-brown in color and is not as sweet at white sugar because it hasn't been bleached of its nutrients. You literally need about 2x or more of the volume to match the sweetness of white sugar.

Yes, but they use High Fructose corn syrup as a sweetener now.

High Fructose corn syrup is actually worse for your liver than sugar. Because the liver is the only place that can metabolize it whereas glucose can be metabolized anywhere.
