White Supremacists Ratchet Up Anti-Hispanic Action As U.S. Immigration Debate Rages

New York, NY, May 24, 2006 … As the national debate over immigration continues to hold the national spotlight, neo-Nazis and white supremacists have ratcheted up their anti-Hispanic action, using everything from Internet video games to street demonstrations and other confrontational tactics in an effort to exploit the debate as a means to spread hate. Their goal is to draw new attention to their hateful notions about minorities and hopes for making America a nation for "Whites only."

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which monitors and reports on the activities of far-right extremists, has updated its online report, "Extremists Declare 'Open Season' on Immigrants" with new information showing that extremists continue to focus their energies on Hispanic hate-mongering through racist rhetoric, crude stereotypes, and threats of using violence to intimidate illegal immigrants.

"As we have gotten deeper into the discussion on immigration, the white supremacist movement has reinvigorated itself and closed ranks around the cause of fighting immigration and turning America into a nation for 'Whites only'", said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "The immigration debate has provided the perfect storm for America's white supremacist fringe to recruit, organize and sow the seeds of racial discord and hate."

On the Internet, right-wing extremists have championed video games such as "Border Patrol," where the aim is to shoot to kill Mexicans as they attempt to cross the border, and used their Web sites to spread hateful anti-Hispanic messages. In the real world, white supremacist leaders have organized protests and encouraged their followers to act violently against immigrants or anyone of Hispanic origin.

Anti-Hispanic Violence

ADL's report cites two recent incidents as the latest in a multi-year trend of increasing violence targeting Hispanics:

•A teenager was arrested in East Hampton, Long Island, on April 29 after he allegedly threatened a Hispanic teenager with a machete and chased a second teenager with a chain saw while shouting racial epithets. Described by classmates as a skinhead, the alleged perpetrator had posted to the Internet photographs of himself posing as a Nazi and adorning a shed with swastikas.

•David Henry Tuck, 18, and Keith Robert Turner, 17, were arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault in the brutal April 22 attack of a teenage Hispanic high school student in Houston. The victim was beaten and sodomized with a plastic pipe from a patio umbrella, then kicked in the head with steel-toed boots.

White Supremacist Protests

In recent weeks, white supremacists have organized protests, rallies and other events across the country:

•In Seattle, Washington, and Las Vegas, Nevada, members of the neo-Nazi National Vanguard held anti-immigration protests on May 20. On its Web site, the National Vanguard declared that day to be a "day of protest against George W. Bush's plan to destroy America," calling the president's immigration proposals a "sellout of the nation."

•In Keene, New Hampshire, New England members of the Arkansas-based neo-Nazi group White Revolution held a self-described "anti-invasion" demonstration on May 7 to protest "the invasion of America by illegal non white hordes.'

•In Russellville, Alabama, members of the Alabama chapter of the Indiana-based National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan held an anti-immigration rally on May 6, yelling "Let's get rid of the Mexicans!" After the rally, the Klansmen burned a cross in a field outside of town.

•In Montgomery, Alabama, the neo-Confederate group League of the South and the Coalition against Illegal Immigration together organized an anti-immigration "Cinco de Mayo" demonstration on May 5. The event was promoted in the racist and anti-Semitic newspaper, "First Freedom."

•In Greenville, South Carolina, the racist Council of Conservative Citizens held an anti-immigration demonstration on April 29 in front of the offices of Republican Congressman Lindsey Graham, where they burned Mexican flags and displayed signs such as "More INS, Less IRS," "Vote for Pedro to Go Home," and "I Didn't Fight in Iraq for Illegal Aliens."

Hmmm...speaking of spreading hate, I guess what the meskins were doing was a love fest eh? White supremacists recognize the shithole this country has become because of multiculturalism. It seems they're the only ones who have the nads to try to do something about it while the rest of us sit back on our fat asses and watch the culture get flushed down the toilet.

I hope the "white supremecists" burn the city. After all, it's ok for muslims to do it. It's about time somebody got pissed off about this immigration shit.

Does the ADL have a special "Boring Cliche'" dictionary they use to crank out these tiresome tracts? I don't even have to read them; they all say the same thing, and use the same words.

Mike, you know it, and I know it, that the ADL is full of shit and playing this crap for all it's worth.

You know what the real problem is and why we have the hordes of illegals streaming over the southern border? Five little letters tell it all.

NAFTA

So the ADL believes members of the CofCC to be 'racists'? Does that include the black protestors (clearly visible in photos of the Greenville rally) as well? These ADL guys really have me confused.

All this talk of "white supremesicts" is so hypocritical.

Other races and cultures living in America are encouraged to hold on to their traditions, and black Americans had the special holiday Quanza created just for them.

Hispanics, American blacks, Jews, the Hmong immigrants and others are encouraged to hold on to their belief systems and traditions, though when those of European ancestry do so they are accused of being white supremecists.

When I was a little kid we were told America was a melting pot, and all who came here were now Americans.

There is an obvious agenda going on, and the propagandists in recent years have done an excellent job of brainwashing people to accept this new ideology, melting pot is no more.

Many black Americans feel threatened by the influx of Mexicans, and rightly so, as they need jobs too.

They should not have to compete with dwindling resources, they have it bad enough as it is. Yet ADL conveniently leaves out that factor, and black Americans have been around from the beginning.

Notice how talk of discrimination towards blacks and their historical sufferings has disappeared, they were only used when it benefited certain causes, now they are being left by the wayside.

The Minutemen and much of the anti-immigration movement is permeated with white supremacists and racists.

That's easy for you to say.

I don't suppose you could come up with a proper definitions of those terms?

If you think NAFTA has nothing to do with the problem of illegal immigration, then you had better rethink your position and do some further study.

NAFTA hit the economies south of the border (expand that with CAFTA) causing millions of job losses and driving subsistence farmers into starvation. This issue is where the Zapatista's have their origins in the southern parts of Mexico.

I dismiss out of turn that the ADL is such an organization. Israel has it's problems with people who dislike people merely for being Arab and Muslim, just as the United States and South Africa have had problems with racism and bigotry against people who are not Christian, but I reject that this problem is systemic.

"Just like I can hate the "Brown Power", reconquista type Mexicans who have openly stated they want me dead, but I have no problem sharing a doob with my Mexican friends."

So you hate illegals, but some of your best friends are colored...err... I mean Latinos and Latinas, aye? Talk about wanting to have your cake and eat it too.

If the Minutemen had their member sign-up audited by an outside and impartial agency I might feel better about them. But I look at Storm Front, the National Vanguard and other race baiting White Nationalism/Supremacist entities and see them taking pains to shroud their support and work with the Minutemen by nesting any pictures and copy what reveals their overt and pro-active support as what they see as a vehicle to expand their national influence, I know that they have people trained to mask who and what they are joining the Minutemen after being schooled in what to say and what not to say when they do.

Racists and over zealous proponents of a Christian theocracy here are a well entrenched group that has felt frustrated and alienated since the demise of Jim Crow and the back of the bus era, and they see the Minutemen and anti- immigration movement as a means to get back lost power and influence.

It will not happen, and I will never remotely in anyway support a toxic movement like the Minutemen or the anti-immigration movement.

"you're making the argument above that the US is not a predominantly Christian nation. but the overwhelming majority of our citizens claim to be Christian. would you say likewise that Israel is not predominantly Jewish?"

The First Amendment protects minority religions and people who don't want religion against the whims and caprice of the majority. Organized prayer in public schools for example was wrong because those who did not wish to partake in it were often ostracized and bullied by their peers for doing so. The Supreme Court ruling that protected the right to private prayer and that ended the everybody stand and bow their heads tyranny of the majority was a great moment in American History.

Christians should have their right to worship as they chose protected every bit as much as the rest of the citizens and people in the U.S. should have the same protection. But is is a moot and pointless argument to say that the largest religion in the U.S. deserves any favoritism.

"you reject god and now you cannot think logically. here is a verse that applies."

Don't bother quoting your scripture, I never read it when it is cited. I am a very religious person and I love and care deeply about the Goddess and all life on this planet. You prove my point about your prejudice here in that you have zero intention of granting my religion any right or currency at all merely because it is not Christianity.

Dak said that this was a predominantly christian nation. and you said that it is not. and then as evidence you sited the first ammendment law that says we're free to speak and worship as we please.

that is a reprobate mind.

But I guess you have faith in mother earth and this over-rules all logic. words have no meaning - mother earth said so.

"I have a problem with people who say they want me dead, why is that so hard to comprehend?"

I can ask you much the same thing.

There are people in the Minutemen who want to shoot border crossers on sight and hate brown skin and the sound of Spanish irrationally as this sentiment emanates from America's dark history of adherence to the Doctrine of Discovery and adherence to the notions of Manifest Destiny, is that so hard to understand?

I agree, Diana. I have nothing against the other peoples, but I don't see why white people are not supposed to be proud of our European backgrounds and our history and traditions. We're "ethnic" too. I think these liberal folks just don't understand that most people prefer people who are like them. That's not the same as hating other people. This same trait can be seen in blacks, Asians, various Hispanic groups as well as whites. People like what they can relate to and feel comfortable with. The various white groups of immigrants had problems relating to the people already here as well until they started speaking English and pretty much adopted the dominant culture. I think that's going to be true for other groups as well. For example, if black Americans dropped the whole violent gangsta culture and started acting more like white Americans, they'd do much better as a community and they'd actually become assimilated at a higher rate.

It does no good to beat people over the head about being racist. People prefer their own group and tend to fear or be suspicious of groups that are dissimilar. That's human nature.

Mike, I don't want to shoot brown people (or any people unless they're from the gubmint :) but I hate the sound of Spanish too. It gets on my nerves. I live in a highly Hispanic neighborhood (because of cheaper rent) and it drives me crazy. I don't hate them, but I would not voluntarily want to live with them either. Some people might feel that way about the French or the Russians or the Chinese. We all have preferences.

I remember that, and yes, it is sad that someone should feel that way. We've had a few black men stand up and say there is something wrong in the black community, like Bill Cosby and recently a black conservative whose name I just can't recall. Unfortunately these gentlemen get pilloried when they speak the unpleasant truth.

I live across the street from a funeral home that serves much of the black and hispanic communities for their young gang violence victims. Every few weeks (and sometimes it was more often than that) I could see hundreds of young black or hispanic people outside this home and I'd know there was a dead young person inside, usually male. And I think what a terrible waste this is, and how horrible and unproductive this whole violent gangsta/rap/welfare culture is. And now black people particularly are getting screwed over by illegal immigration as they can't even get those jobs any more.

People have to develop higher standards. Since the 60s are standards in all areas of life have gotten lower and lower because of our fear of offending someone or "judging" someone until we got to this point where people have almost no standards at all except that of "feeling good" physically or emotionally. You can't build a community on that.

I don't like hearing spanish either. but I hear it all the time. and I wish I understood it and spoke it. I live in phoenix.

today I'm taking two people out to the chinese buffet. and both people are ethnic mexican though they were born in arizona, they are american, but the dividers among us insist we call them mexican, when I'm over at their house they may speak spanish with their neighbors & friends, some of whom are recent illegal immigrants. I'll be the only non-spanish speaker in the whole group. and these two people whom I'll take to the chinese buffet are unemployed which would not be the case if it weren't for the invasion from the south.

the reason that I have it in my heart to do this type of thing on a regular basis is because I have received a gift. through long-suffering and faith and praise the god who made us, the one who is the beginning and the end and created all, has given to me a gift that I will do this and be happy that I do.

but the ferret who worships mother earth has received a different gift for his systematic and willful rejection of god. He has received a reprobate mind. and he believes that people of christian faith are hate-mongers and racists. this is his gift - utter confusion, stupefying warped nonsense rolls out of his mouth.

praise the lord! for he is the one who made us and will usher us into the kingdom of heaven!

Nothing that is truly good has been made by man. Man has been allowed to rule here on earth only so that man will be discredited. Look around, the discrediting is in progress. we cannot rule ourselves. We must turn to god.

the people will be divided. choose life, do not choose death. it will be your choice. Your conscience will show you this choice and you will be able to make it. Unlike what ferret mike says the first ammendment does not give us free choice. It is god who gave us free will and free choice and allows us to choose.

do not choose to reject god, you'll get a reprobate mind as a reward. not a good deal.

I have often thought this, Red, especially when I'm walking around in nature. I often think that there's nothing man has created with his great mental gifts which matches the beauty and elegance and simplicity and sustainability and balance that God has given us. And we don't appreciate it, which is the shame of it. We think our minds are our greatest gift, but so many evil people have had great minds. The heart is the more important organ.

red - "I don't believe you for a second. Can you site to us even one source demonstrating that anyone in the Minuteman organization feels this way? Because I don't think it's true. I think it's that reprobate mind that can't think straight."

ferret - Make up your mind. First you ask, then you dismiss out of turn any desire to listen to an answer with your ad homenim attack.

OK Ferret - you lied when you said that the minutemen were racists who want to kill the brown-skinned people.

your latest argument is that you won't provide evidence that the minutemen are racist because I doubt that it is true. like I said, a reprobate mind. unable to think logically. you used the phrase 'out of turn' to describe my comments. I don't know whether you've noticed or not (given your reprobate mind), but on this forum you can take a turn and comment and I can take a turn and comment. Therefore, when I comment I am not 'out of turn'. your 'out of turn' characterization is non-sensical, it stems from a reprobate mind, and if you read Romans 1:28 you'll see where that reprobate mind comes from.

another exampel of the reprobate feature - you can't provide proof because I doubt you. that is pure nonsense.

and you said that I had no desire to listen to your response. But I am the one that asked you to show this evidence. and you are saying you won't provide it because I don't want to listen. pure insanity of a reprobate mind.

"OK Ferret - you lied when you said that the minutemen were racists who want to kill the brown-skinned people."

This is an ad homenim attack. You misrepresent my words; I said there are elements - people in the Minutemen nothing better then this. organization - who would love nothing better then to do this. I did not say "the Minutemen."

I have seen many snide blood thirsty comments at LP, FR and other places talking of piranhas in the Rio Grand, shooting people as they climbed fences and other poor choices of advocacy for the issue to curtail the influx of people from Mexico.

And people from racist circles are coached to mask their intent and bigotry to bypass any screening the well intentioned and honest people in that organization have installed.

This is why I said earlier I would feel much better about an independent audit of members and screening of potential Minutemen.

I submit that if the best you can do is try to put me on the defensive with the skewing of my words and by trying to insult me, then there is flatly not much to your arguments. You need to do better then this.

I took a "temporary" job out in the woods after graduating the UO, and stayed as I prefer working outdoors and enjoyed the work. Illegal immigrants who were cheaper to hire and easier to push around then people like myself who have a stake in the community pushed people like me out of that line of work.

But as I recognized that these decent, hard working people were there out of desperation for a decent future for themselves and their families, I have never bore them any ill will. In fact, many of them are my good friends.

Instead, I have focused my criticism on those who exploit and entice to make more money. Many in the inti-immigration movement are too frightened and intimidated by the political and economic power of the business leaders who have formulated and executed this policy of pitting one group of people against another to accrue even more wealth and political power so they pick on the easier target they can find; the immigrants themselves.

They do not see that the pimps in all this already expected this lack of guts to put people on the trail of the job whores they have put to work to rub out the middle class and destroy the economic well being of people not quite in the middle class.

The anti-immigration movement needs to grow up and see that they are not going to get anywhere unless they grit their teeth and get bloody fighting the originators of this demographic influx.

And that involves more then merely taking on the lowest element of this faction - the people doing the direct hiring of immigrants - as a cover and excuse to claim that they indeed are doing this.

I know this issue well as it effected me directly starting in the 1980s. I know who the problem is here, and know that going after them is the only way this problem will be effectively dealt with.

This is often why people drink, but unfortunately it doesn't ever change anything except to add a hangover to the problems one percieves in the world.

I drank as a young Paratrooper, but gave it up when I got out of the Army.

I did both to save my marriage, but of course it didn't.

But hey, I don't miss her, the booze or the service, so in the end things worked themselves out as they always do. ;-)

Does anyone else ever notice that the term White Supremacist is a total Oxymoron?

The people you see on TV who are purported to be White Supremacists look like a bunch of retards who don't dress well.

Even more appalling, is the fact that every single one of these morons and I use that term generously, ALWAYS comes across as some inbred retard. Whenever you do see one of these supposed Racists, who are cogent and well spoken, All of a sudden, you have a problem.

You can't have a calm, cogent, intelligent racist. All you can have are the frothing at the mouth, brown booted, white t-shirt wearing retards who scream Sieg Heil on camera. An intelligent, or even relatively bright racist can't be marginalized as quickly as the moron brigade.

What's worse is that many people, who look to keep a certain standard of living, without having to sacrifice what they worked for, are labeled as racists for just wanting to keep what is THEIRS.

I mean, has anyone noticed how much more they're paying in insurance premiums? How about your Medical Coverage? Food prices? Property taxes? Who is responsible for the majority of the increases on your resources? Well, it's not just the illegal aliens, it's also the refugees who come here from Laos, or Somalia. It's everyone who comes here that gets on the public dole, and their government enablers.

So you see, the problem isn't so much with illegal immigration, or immigration at all. It's a problem with your representatives telling you, that YOU need to pony up more dough, so that Jose, and Juanita can have the American Dream at your expense.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for people coming here to have a better life. What I'm NOT interested in, is people coming here for a better life at the taxpayer's expense and that is EXACTLY why people are angry.

I would bet ten bucks that if all illegal aliens were making money, working hard, and not having anchor children, as well as robbing us blind where government resources were concerned, nobody would care. Not even the racists because quite frankly they only get motivated when someone tells them to anyway, and usually that means one of them actually has a Real Job, and pays Real Taxes.

The problem here isn't of race, it's about putting the responsibily of people where it belongs. It's not my responsibility to make sure that someone else's kids get an education, or healthcare. It's not my responsibility for anyone but myself, and here's how I know this.

If you take out a mortgage, credit card, student loan, guess who is responsible for that debt? Well I assure you it sure as hell isn't the state. It's YOUR responsibility.

Just like the illegal aliens coming to this country. Who's responsibility is it that you prosper? You, and you better not do it by stealing it from someone else. Mexico could be more prosperous than the United States with minimal fuss, and the leaders of that nation KNOW IT. It's just that the people at the top are racists and want to ensure that the caste system they have there stays in place.

What we need to do, is invade Mexico, and do away with all their corrupt officials so that the people of Mexico can actually have a level playing field and the ability to prosper in Their Own Country, as opposed to coming to this country and stealing the wealth of this nation.

What's that Mr. Nipples? You want me to ask the nice lady about her rack?.

Nice rant. ;0)

"Our constitution relies on our ... freedom to nourish independent and responsible intelligence and preserve our democracy from that submissiveness, timidity and herd-mindedness of the masses... The priceless heritage of our society is the ... right of each member to think as he will. Thought control is a copyright of totalitarianism, and we have no claim to it. It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error. I have nothing against the Mexicans. The ones I see are decent people. I can't stand the Spanish language, but that's just my idiosyncracy - it does make it hard for me to be around them though.

I absolutely agree that they are being exploited, and part of the problem with that is that if we continue to let these folks pour into the US, the fabulously wealthy elites running Mexico get to export their poverty problem instead of dealing with it, which they are certainly capable of doing. I would love to see these migrants go back home and start killing their ruling class. Mexico desperately needs change and change isn't going to happen as long as the US serves as a safety valve to ensure that desperate Mexicans have a place to run to to make a meager living and ghettos to live in.

You have a good point there, Dak, and I have done that myself to people whom I felt were deliberately obtuse or obstructive and just wouldn't listen to any reason at all. Especially on FR :)

Did you see the great photo of Alan Keyes and Chris Simcox raising metal fence posts on the border today? Sweet.

If the Minutemen had their member sign-up audited by an outside and impartial agency I might feel better about them.

LOL!

I know that they have people trained to mask who and what they are joining the Minutemen after being schooled in what to say and what not to say when they do.

Cool. Perhaps there's some hope for white people after all.

I'm thinking Morris Dees could fill the outside and impartial agency bill?

"Gee Mike, I'm not a very smart man."

Indeed, I agree. Most fascists aren't. That just come with the territory with who and what you are.
