We can expect 70 years of Bad Global Weather. We entered a Grand Solar Minimum in 2020 much like the Maunder Minimum of 1645 to 1715 during which the price of wheat spiked 400% higher in certain years.
A total of ten helicopters were requested, with four on the scene. First responders requested 37 ambulances.
When the crash happened on I-80 in SW Pennsylvania a mile east of Exit 1 on way back to Chicago from Woodstock 94, they sent ambulances from as far away as Cleveland.
Helicopters were landing nearby on the other side of the highway that was under construction. The construction was mostly completed on the westbound side of the highway. But there was still a lot of broken concrete, rebar and other debris alongside the bridge the crash had happened on.
When I got out of the bus by pushing open the emergency window, someone handed me a cell phone and I called in the crash.
It was three busses and two trucks, but the story on the newspaper got it reversed.
That bus crash made that the road trip from hell.
A lot of my friends were evacuated by helicopter or ambulance. The bus driver was pinned in the wreck for an hour. When they got him out he gave us the "thumbs up" and we all cheered. We found out later he lost both legs at the knee.
One guy when the excitement was over, he sat down next to a guard rail and went into shock. i hollered, "We got a man down over here." A medic came over and put an IV in his arm. I was on other side of guard rail. I stuck my hand in the air and he put the IV bag in my hand.
That guy was Ivan and he got the good looking nurse in the ambulance. ;)
