A legendary mountain man comes out of retirement for one last trip, only to meet a terrifying end.
One of my heroes of the old West was "Liver Eatin' Johnson" whose pregnant wife was killed in retribution for his leading a government party into sacred Crow lands. He, thereafter, exacted his revenge one Brave at a time, and would then eat their raw liver. The TV show "Jeremiah Johnson" was a sanitized version of his story and was again, partially, told in the book and movie "Crow Killer". I read his life story as a young teen when I was handed a book about him.
