When Roger Waters was part of that band, he was the subversive soul of it. Bob Geldoff was Pinky in the movie. He was nothing and frankly is still nothing when it all comes down to it.
Roger Waters was angry mind, David Gilmour the soul, and Syd Barrett, the nervous system that connected the two. When Barrett left, there was no one to connect Gilmour and Waters and that caused the band to split.
They want to blame a movie that has imagery of a totalitarian state, the very kind they want to create for the rest of us. The Democratic Party here in the United States and the socialist governments around the world don‘t want people seeing this sort of thing because it might give people ideas about rising up against tyranny.
It astounds me that the Boomer generation who never really got a generation defining moment except the assassination of JFK, and Vietnam, did everything in their power to turn the United States into the very kind of shitshow that their parents fought and died protecting America from.
