I stll recall the woman I met in the mountains - Bow Hunting For Elk. I have always thought of her as the "Cover Girl" for "Soldier Of Fortune". Cammies, War Paint, and All. Tall, muscular, and deadly. Nothing at all like the current 1st Hooker.

I picked up a load of Mexican produce in Yuma, Arizona when I drove for IWX. I was heading for the Indian casino in New Mexico to take my break. They had a restaurant and rest rooms.
Just about dusk I was on 2-lane road in New Mexico. I came around a curve and the headlights fell on a brown object in the road. IT WAS AN ELK!
I hit the brakes and moved as far right as possible without dropping the steer tire off the pavement. I just missed hitting it.
So I put out a broadcast on the CB there were Elk out here.
Some driver comes back and says, "Elk! I haven't seen Elk in a long time."
I told him, "You don't want to see these Elk, driver. They are too close to the road. I almost hit one." ;)
