Disney’s stock has taken a beating.

According to a report from The Washington Free Beacon, the House of Mouse stock price has been on a steady downward trajectory since feuding with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over his Parental Rights in Education Act (mislabeled the “Don’t Say Gay” bill).

From The Free Beacon:

By the numbers: Disney stock was trading at $133.65 a share when Chapek accused DeSantis of promoting legislation that would “unfairly target gay, lesbian, nonbinary, and transgender kids and families.” Disney shares opened at $89.44 and continued to fall on Wednesday ahead of DeSantis’s formal entry into the 2024 presidential campaign.

• That’s a decline of 33.1 percent in a little over 14 months.

"Walt Disney will pay Bob Iger about $27 million annually for returning as chief executive officer under a new two-year deal.

Iger will receive a base salary of $1 million and a bonus equal to that amount, according to a filing by the company on Monday. In addition, he’ll receive stock awards with a target value of $25 million each year."

If the stock value drops 50%, will they just give him twice as many shares? Or does the drop actually hurt him? Would be hard to have to live on only $14.5 million a year.

The way I heard it, Florida gave Disney some discounts on property taxes also. I know those taxes are a county thing. But the State has a heavy presence in all counties in Florida.

And isn't it that was for all things federal also?

After all, since the Act of 1871 was passed the organic united states of America is now the corporate UNTITED STATES OF AMERICA. ;)
