Transparent Toaster

This transparent toaster allows you to see the bread while it is toasting so you never surprised by toast that comes out too dark. This idea is based on the transparent heating glass featured in this issue. Although the glass does not currently get hot enough to toast bread, some day this application may be possible. The concept was developed by the Inventables Concept Studio. (1 image)

How about a car that runs on salt water before we worry about this?

Desalinization is an expensive, cumbersome, equipment-intensive process.

And, since salt is not fuel and it would have to be separated, a vehicle that burns sea water would be a remedy in search of a problem. In fact, salt is an electrolyte and high concentrations would likely dead-short the electrodes used to separate the hydrogen and oxygen, so it would have to be removed BEFORE the H20 is cracked. That process would require more equipment than that needed for hydrogen separation and combustion, and it would add unnecessary weight and expense to any vehicles so equipped.

I suppose it would be good to have on seagoing vessels because that would relieve the problem of having to carry fresh water for fuel.

But for motor vehicles?

Would anyone away from coastal areas have a use for such an invention?

(I know! People in Indonesia and other islands with limited fresh water sources would find it convenient.)
