Typhus is carried by Lice. In the 1930s, Germany asked the U.S. to sell them DDT to kill the lice that carried typhus. The U.S. refused. So Germany did the best they could with what they had.

Patton was incensed they allowed Hitler to escape to Spain.

This basic truth can be seen in the three book Gestapo Chief series by Gregory Douglas.

Heinrich Mueller escaped to Switzerland at the end of the war. U.S. representatives went there in 1948 to interrogate him.

When they asked him about Hitler, Mueller replied, "You could try Spain." Then he added, "Perhaps the Russians can go to Barcelona and ask Franco about him. They might end up buried in an orange grove."

Then he told the Americans, "And if you went there you might end up in the next orange grove over."

They brought Mueller from Switzerland to the U.S., gave him a rank of Major in the U.S. Army and he played the piano for Harry Truman.

The reason Mueller was brought here under Operation Paperclip is because his specialty was Soviet counterintelligence. And we all know where the Soviet Union is today. ;)

Greg Hallett (Hitler Was a British Agent) thinks Spain was the likely retirement venue as well.

Hitler and Bormann had their fingers in accounts and finances all over the globe, and lots of their confreres had various useful things to barter with after the war ended. Others did not, and they were hanged.

And we know the suicide-in-the-bunker stuff is bunk, just like many, many other tales concocted to explain the world wars.
