military spending is $1.5 trillion War is the heath of the economy. Without the military/industrial complex this nation would go belly up. You know it and I know it. ;)
Not true, as the post WW2 experience shows.
"WAR IS A RACKET" - Lt. Gen. Smedley Butler, Congressional Medal of Honor, Two Awards (One of only 19 Men to be so honored).
The 1943 meetings of the Big Four in Tehran was set up to divide Europe and erect the Iron Curtain.
Col. L. Fletcher Prouty flew Chiang Kai Shek to Tehran for those meetings.
Prouty was an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. He was at a Navy base on Guam which was where the weapons for an invasion of Japan were stored, four and five pallets high.
After we dropped the nukes on Japan and forced them to surrender, all those weapons were put on two ships.
When they set sail, Col Prouty asked the Harbor Master where they were heading.
He was told, "One is going to Pyongyang, and the other to Haiphong."
They were sending them the guns to start the next two wars.
