I would expect this spat that occurred will impact Putin to some extent. In spite of the amicable outcome, he'll need to reaffirm to the Russian population that he is still in charge. That might translate to, ironically, doing what this commander was complaining wasn't being done. Increasing the odds of more offensive activity by Russian forces against Ukraine.

I was expecting Putin to force a decisive victory within a year of hostilities, and wither the inevitable ostracism from the west. Instead he did a replay of Soviets vs Afghanistan.

It wouldn't surprise me if US/multinational (western) defense contractors have never ceased slithering through the basement of the Kremlin, making mischief, looking for an buyer.

Armchair quarterbacking aside (I mailed an application to Putin to be his Rabbi, but never received a reply), Putin was stupid for letting the situation drag on long enough for the NWO to mobilize against him.

Had I my way, Russia would be selling natgas to Europe and a loaf of bread would cost about a dollar.

A couple things on that.

1) There is the mud situation that Ukraine is notorious for, and according to Col MacGregor, this past winter did not get cold enough to solidify the ground for an adequate offensive. Perhaps the summer season will see it dry adequately.

2) Looking beyond the localized Ukraine war to the full blown economic war, Putin could arguably be working to destroy the dollar, and all the money printing we are doing to fund Ukraine is potentially part of Putin's game plan. The dollar is in the process now of losing global standing as the world reserve currency. If that continues, then Putin wins even if he never gains another square foot of Ukrainian ground. But of course if the dollar does fall on the world stage, then he'll also easily win in Ukraine as it will lose western financial support.

So there is more going on than just the hot war in Ukraine.
