The feds approved it because it would cause "no adverse environmental impact". So the "approval" is not based on anything having to do with taxation, civil liberties, travel rights or economics. Nor does it appear the feds are benefiting at all from it. It's a NY tax.

One thing never accurately reported is the number of people who died of starvation during the Great Depression.

I'm not so sure about that. WX extremes are pretty randomly distributed over my lifetime. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a meteorologist. As a pilot, that information came in handy. Flight (Fright) service wasn't worth a shit.

Correct. My parents were both children of the depression. My dad didn't talk much after his service in WWII (Philippines, Pacific Theater), but my mother told some really interesting stories about things back then.

There were 123 million Americans in 1929. Between 3 and 7 million died of starvation because 1) the FED let money supply drop 31% between 1929 and 1933 and 2) we had 4 very hot years in the 1930s which combined with stupid laws from DC and stupid agricultural practices led to the Dust Bowl. In fact we had exactly one year since 2,000 that was as the 4th hottest year in the 1930s.

We could have another year without a summer just like in 1816 making everyone pray that Global Warming was actually true. Hard to determine how many actually starved to death beyond the 3 to 7 million figure because of poor record keeping.

I remember some of that stuff when I was in grade school. I don't remember exactly what the problem was. I also remember cars and R-12 refrigerant were going to cause an Ice Age.

The R-12 refrigerant contained chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). that was a big bugaboo back then.

Now the big worry is the ice sheets melting and causing flooding in low lying areas along the coast.

We should hope that a large asteroid does not strike the earth like the one that hit off the Yucatan. The tidal wave got all the way up to the Arbuckle mountains in Oklahoma.

Something like that would spell doom for millions of people in Texas. ;)

I had two IRS liens on me in the town I was living in when driving trucks.

I called Recorder's office and they said, "Send AZ check for $4 and a SASE. We will send cop9ied."

I had credit repair lawyers, Lexington Law, challenge the IRS. They could not prove I owed the tax and were forced cto withdraw the liens.v

My Credit Karma used to say "2" for Public Filings. It now says "0".
